Ok, who does everyone think the coach will be the next time NIU wins a football game?

Better not talk too fast. WIU will be coming to town in two weeks.

True, I would not be sad to take him back. Wasn't at NIU long , but seemed like a class guy.

He'd be an improvement I think, in the coaching area. Still not sure how well he recruited since he was using Kill's players.

We will need to pay him a million a year. No Jordon Lynch to make him look like a genius.

2 MACCs while he was here. He wouldn't take the paycut but we can always dream, right?

You've got a point. He hasn't accomplished much at NC State. At least he seemed like a respectable human being, though.

Ask a few donors that question and you may get a different answer. He never had the time to talk to anyone, would brush people off, or just walk away from them. Kill on the other hand was a respectable human being, who truly cared about people that came out to support the team. There is a reason why he won where ever he went.

Too bad his health is an issue, though. Living a longer life is way more important than winning a few football games. Doeren is not a reasonable answer anyway. I'm not sure who the answer is, but I think we can all agree Carey needs to go and needs to go quickly. Too bad there is not a cash reserve to make that happen.

Jerry certainly poured his heart in to everything relating to coaching. A professor in the donor tent last year told me a great story about Jerry. He said that right after Jerry got hired he was in his office and the janitor came in to empty his garbage. Janitor asked him if he had met the new football coach. He told the janitor, not yet but hoped too soon. Janitor said, "well I did". Apparently when Jerry was hired the first thing he did was go around and introduce himself to all the janitors, with the thinking that they never get recognition, and they deserve it as much as anybody else as they are part of the same team.

+1 on the professionalism of Jerry Kill. He and his coaches was very kind
and gracious to NIU faculty. Not surprised that he won at every school he was at.

Now that sounds like a man who understands life. I sure hope his health issues are in the past. It is amazing how much being a good, decent person shines through in how well you do your job. Sure, there are some a holes who earn more than they deserve, but for the most part good people do well.
