Agreed..but to have any chance, it has to be a hell of a pitch - might as well go for it

Is she replacing anyone, or just additional staff?

Sean O’Regan officially introduced Langford as his newest assistant coach Wednesday, replacing Ashlee McGee, who left in April.

RE: Future WBB Schedule
Saw on twitter JMU offered a local player from Spotswood yesterday. Rising sophomore Stephanie Ouderkirk, 6'0 forward. I saw her play a few times as a freshman and she had good mid range game, good handles, and good footwork. Offering someone so early means she probably has some big time offers coming later so it would be good if we can keep her local.

For 2018 recruits, we have a verbal from Madison Green (Millbrook/Winchester VA). Her sister Courtni was a 4 year player at Delaware and brother Erick Green played in the NBA after a successful career at VT.

Per Walfish:
"Benitez, the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, picked the Dukes over Va. Tech, St. John's, Wisconsin, Clemson, UNH, Seton Hall and Rutgers."

This is a very good signing. She won't provide much needed scoring help next year, but congrats to coach O for landing Benitez!

That's one helluva get! And stop obsessing about the scoring, it'll just have to be distributed. I expect Smalls, Barrier, and Cooper-Williams to provide a lot of it between them

RE: Future WBB Schedule
I am thinking that we will see a bunch of players on this falls team averaging 7-10 pts per game each. While the Lady Dukes do not seem to have the go to scorer that we have had in recent years with P Hall, T Hislop and D Evans it looks like the team will be working with a more balanced attack, spreading the ball around etc. One advantage of that is if your scorer has an off night it will not hurt as much.

Go Dukes!!

Brian

I like not having one big gun. Would rather see a more balanced attack.

As for me, I like having my one big gun. But if we are talking WBB I too prefer a more balanced attack.

With Tennessee releasing its non-conference schedule today, it is confirmed that the Dukes will visit the Lady Vols on Nov. 15.

I believe he also said in a later tweet that the schedule is done, but the people that need to confirm it/approve its release are on vacation (or something to that effect). Looks like we should know the schedule soon.

Wish I could be at TBA for the Tennessee game. It would be fun.

RE: Future WBB Schedule
If that schedule holds up, the FSU game will be on a Sunday afternoon. Make plans now to pack the Convo with purple and gold and let's show the Seminoles how it is done JMU-style.

I am sorry the Tennessee game is mid-week - that will make it harder to get a Crown Club bus trip going but I hope we can still try. It's a great campus and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame is right there, so it would make for a fabulous road trip. I spent the first two years of my professional career working there and that's where I first got interested in watching women's basketball. If Pat Summitt cannot get you excited about women's basketball, then nobody can.

Let's hope our pep bad hasn't lost anything with the change of directors. I would hate to lose that part of the JMU mystique.
