RE: Sunday vs. FIU
Having fun. Walk, pitching change, single by Teykl makes it 7-0, no one out, runners on 1st and 2nd.

RE: Sunday vs. FIU
Despite drawn-in infield, Kopy's fielder's choice 6-3 groundout drives in Lewis, who was running on contact.
JP: "Not sure why Lopez didn't come home ... (on the) grounder hit right at him."
Owls leading, 8-0. Two out.
Chandler walks. Two on.
Myers looks at 0-2 third strike.
8-0 heading to B4.

I think he's at 48 now through 4, leading 8-0. Hope he can finish out the 5th, and pick up the win*. Let's get him a couple more runs.

T5: Turtle Thomas changes up his defense.
Soria RF => 3B
Rodriguez to 1B
McManigal in to RF.
Fabra in to pitch.
Proctor walks on 3-2 pitch.
DiCaprio high chopper to 3rd. 5-4 FC. No play at 1st.
Gray "sizzles" a single to RF. (Rice's 10th hit. "The Owls' 6th double-digit hitting game in the last nine games.")
Lewis HBP! Bases loaded.
Tekyl ... grounder to 1st ... run scores! 9-0.
Warren walks on five pitches. Bases loaded for Kopy!
New pitcher coming in.

The Oilers didn't have Otto and Myers waiting to shut down any uprising.

RE: Sunday vs. FIU
Are the FIU pitchers very wild today, or are we actually showing patience and plate discipline for a change?

Kopy: Come-backer ends the Owls' threat, leaving the bases loaded. Bummer. But a 9-0 lead is very nice. :-)

RE: Sunday vs. FIU
B5:
Lopez - doubles down the RF line.
Rodriguez - nubber back to the pitcher, 1-3; runner to 3rd. (The first time the Panthers have gotten a runner to 3rd in the entire series, JP says.)
Mira - Walks on 3-2 pitch. (He's grandson of the NFL QB George Mira ... and son of NFL LB George Mira. Jr.)
Perez - Hits into 5-4-3 inning-ending double play on a 2-2 pitch! Yay!!
9-0, Rice, after 5.

You do not have to think football. Around 2006 or 2007, we played at UAB and had a kazillion run lead midway through the game. Then, our pitchers could not get anyone out, and UAB staged a stunning comeback.

2009 at UAB. The Sunday meltdown that cost us the national seed and sent us to LSU for the Super. We've never been the same since. Day that will live in infamy.

Owls continue to score in every inning with some help from FIU. Dane reaches on E5, moves to second on E1 and comes home on single by Ford. 10-0 Owls one out in T6.

Ojala had a shutout through 5 innings, and left with something like a 9-0 lead, as he was still recovering from his arm injury, and our bullpen proceeded on a walkathon that ultimately cost us both the regular season CUSA title (losing it to ECU) and what appeared to be a sure thing national seed.

RE: Sunday vs. FIU
3 singles, a wild pitch and two walks plate two more Owls. Lead is not 12-0!
And it's not as close as the score indicates, as we've already left 15 (!!) on base, including the bases loaded three times (innings 1, 5 & 6).
