RE: USF OCS news
Both schools did it right for their respective situations. UCF did great to build the best, biggest they could at the time, got the OCS environment going, and can expand and make it as fancy as they choose USF had RJS, so chose to wait a bit, let RJS age some, and obviously had to wait out the losing time... but now may finally be able to move forward. Win win. Now if we can just get into the B12 together, we can really start hacking at UF and FSU.

I like that USF takes its time on these things because we build quality when we build. All of our facilities are really nice now and the wait was worth it.
Its nice when you aren't forced out of the stadium you rely on and have time to fund, plan and build a stadium the way you want it. But I'm gonna assume the tin can comment was a shot at UCF and I wouldn't trade our situation for yours. We are now able to upgrade and build upon what we already have. Our stadium will look very different than it does now in 10 years and you wont be able to make your petty and snide comments.
Not necessarily... there are much worse stadiums than UCFs, but yes, i do think yall should do some upgrades. Chairback seats between the 30-30 to me is a minimum for a good stadium. Those are the seats that people pay the most for and to have just bleachers to me kinda sucks but from what Ive heard, UCF is looking into it.
Long term I think UCFs stadium will get to a point of being really nice... USF is in a different situation. We have an AMAZING stadium to use and I dont think we should build cheap when we have that option.
If we can rent a Ferrari instead of driving a Hyundai, then why not. Id rather wait till we can own an Infinity... and a $150 million should build us that type of stadium.

I know UH's was only $120 million, so i don't think you will need that much.

Not true, its better to play in an NFL stadium than to play in a stadium on campus if the OCS can only be built with limited funds. Upgrading said OCS down the road when more money becomes available is dumb and makes you seem like a poor. We live in America where everyone should max out all credit lines and worry about paying for it later.
If that where true how come the majority of schools have an ocs? Even Tulane preferred an OCS over the Superdome. Why didn't ucf just stay in the citrus bowl?
Super Dome was always too big for Tulane a small private school. UCF was kind of push into building an OCS because the Citrus Bowl which was an awful facility and not comparable to RJS was going to go under remodeling and UCF could had been without a place to play while renovating.
Majority of schools are old enough to have built their OCS years ago before NFL stadiums were built.
Listen I want an OCS and I think an OCS adds a lot to the college football experience but I also know that playing in an NFL stadium has its perks.
USF will built an OCS in time but probably not in the next 5 years unless the Big12 says they require one for expansion or the Bucs raise our rents to an amount where is not financially a good move to stay.
UCF would probably still be in the Citrus Bowl if they had not been forced out. We would probably be still "waiting for the right time" to fund an OCS. We had problems getting state funding for a downtown campus that serves the students and the city, I can only image how hard it would have been to come up with 100 million to build a cement castle, especially if those opposed had the ability to say "why don't you just stay in the Citrus Bowl".
UCF Built the stadium for around 50 Million and the return on the investment has been incredible. I doubt that paying an additional 40 million for better aesthetics would have added any real additional value other than pride.
Plus UCF did the state of Florida a favor. Think of all those aluminium cans that would just be laying by the roadside.
