It's AWD and doesn't have a torque curve of course it is quick.
The company by any measure remains a total fraud dependent on sleazy carbon credits. The cars are total losers by themselves.
As far as city driving is concerned, its about the only one that matters. Its the only one you'll get much use out of.

completely disagree, the Tesla seems made for city driving, and I rarely go over 65 in the city...so the 0-60 time matters...that's that 'green light jump' city drivers need.
seems like you don't want to like the Tesla.

The roadster was. The model s was built custom.
It was pretty much just the body though. Everything else had to be changed.

It's not that I don't want to like it it's that objectively it's a terrible car, or cars.
Other than being quick off the line there is nothing price competitive about any of them.
They are inferior vehicles that are quick off the line.
When you add to the fact that they are built my a fraud company and that every person driving one is doing so with the help of corporate welfare and tax credits you see that even being quick doesn't save them from being total garbage.

Yeah, the irony is that a lot of libs get huge erections when they talk about Tesla and electric cars, but don't remind them about corporate welfare or the evil billionaire owner getting tax breaks to keep the company afloat.

RE: Tesla Unveils the Model 3
y'all crack me up as I get ready to get in my 350 v8 pick 'em up that I can change oil, plugs, basic maintenance w/o special tooling or a computer
honestly, it's a cool design that will most certainly help change the game of dependence.....like all design changes, perfecting the art takes time..
another added negative (relative to retro outfitting a dwelling) about electric vehicles is the lack of noise generated.....is a concern among those that use foot traffic, infrastructure maintenance workers, etc...I won't go to the level of drunk driving, but more people will die due to this coupled with incompetent drivers as they use their 'smart' phones....
yeah, I think about other thingys....I work in the field.....I see more than my fair share of idiot drivers every day....

I've got a 2013 VW Jetta SE with the 2.5 five cylinder engine...love it.

So they're up to 253k reservations in 2 days.
Musk said on twitter earlier they expected 1/4 to maybe 1/2 that many.
For comparison, the Model S had just over 500 reservations in its first week of sales.

RE: Tesla Unveils the Model 3
The way Tesla handles the roll out of the Model 3 will be a defining moment in auto history.
If they botch it and miss their deadlines or release a dud of a car, it could kill the company, or at least scale them down to simply being a niche manufacturer cranking out very few high performance cars.
If they knock if out of the park, the industry will never be the same.

the brainwashwers once said that about kia.....how's oldsmobile/pontiac/etc doing now?
change in design is the same fight Trump is trying to accomplish....
I remember the "deadline mandate" days....I took down a JCI VP with his bs in structure once 'they' took over....
big picture bro....
I like musk's thinking.....they don't always get it right with every word when questioned and/or posited....
"discovery" is one of the coolest things about being human in survival....

A friend of mine with a Model S says its adds about $100 to his power bill.
Still isn't worth it...
I work from home and don't drive much. But still manage over $100/ month in gas just for one car. It'll be worth it for me. I may change my electric plan to one with free nights and I won't even notice.
Well, it may make some modicum of sense for you.
The cars just don't impress me. A coworker has a Model S that is crap. It isn't that fast, raddles like crazy, rides like crap, and is just a poor automobile. As soon as the novelty wears off they are just poor cars.
There is a reason we take my car.
There is just no way this new model will be decent. These cars are all hype and no substance.
The quality of car is poor. You are absolutely correct.
I won't touch one until the quality improves significantly

agree.....is no different than buying the first cpu, cell phone, hd compatible, etc....
however, that type of increase is a huge positive looking forward....
musk puts his d!ck on the chopping block.....just like Trump....
that's how America became what it once was....

RE: Tesla Unveils the Model 3
As I've said before, getting the first electric cars on the road is the critical step toward getting good electric cars on the road. It'll take some time, but we will get there.
