Tigers have been running their asses off this year stealing bases and taking extra base.

Other than bats taking a break the last couple of games. The only issue has been the Pitching staff is on pace to break the record for wild pitches and HBP this year. Hit one earlier this year on first pitch of game.

Hitting tends to come and go. One of the variables, besides how many times you connect the bat with the ball is WHERE you hit (i.e., thru a hole or directly toward a fielder) and WHEN you hit it (i.e., whether anybody was on base). Another variable is pitching - we may have been facing strong pitching.

From what I have seen of this year's team, they rarely strike out, play solid defense, have base running speed but are replacing several pitching aces from last year with freshman pitchers (some of whom are very good but need playing time to mature). There is plenty of season left and time is our ally. I have already reserved my beachfront condominium in Clearwater, FL and look forward to watching our team in the very tough AAC tournament. Those of you who have never been should consider going. Lots of fun, win or lose (beats the SEC's Hoover, AL)..

They're playing at the Double-A stadium off of I40 ... Game is meant to reach out to the students and student life at the Lambuth campus ....
