The 37 wins last season in the ever-tough AAC and against several SEC teams saw us ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in 21 years. That makes 5 consecutive seasons with at least 30 wins - first time in program history. On top of that, last season makes 11 out of the last 14 in which the team's average GPA exceeded 3.0.
Here are three ways you can do your part to support them:
(1) Try to attend some games! Tickets at FedEx Park (on south campus) are only $5 ($3 for seniors).
(2) Join the Bullpen Club
(3) Contribute online to the modest 2016 goal to raise $15,000 for facility & equipment improvement @ http://www.joinourcampaign.com (Team Code: 2336 / Password: UMTB) or call 877-524-4796 or send a check to Bullpen Club / ATTN: Daron Schoenrock / 207 Athletic Office Building / 507 Normal St/Memphis, TN 28152-3730. No donation is too small.
Tiger Baseball Matters!
Enjoyed watching the Tigers over here in Chattanooga last weekend.

Five consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in program history and every year he wins his share of games against surrounding SEC schools who have ten times as much support. C-USA was and the AAC is a damned good baseball conference. Running off the man who is arguably the best coach we ever had doesn't sound so smart to me. Why don't we try giving him the support he needs first?
I'll support the baseball team like you support the basketball team.

Don't get me started on the baseball program.... I have stated for the last few years that Rock has proven he cannot consistently recruit the upper end elite players out of high school. He may grab 1 a year maybe.
He has had 10 years...10 years (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe to get to the NCAA tournament!!! And yet to make it. Doesn't matter if you win 30 games a year.... if they don't make the tournament doesn't matter.
We need a new coach that can recruit.....and make the tournament!

Currently in season 12 made 1 ncaa tourney in 07 and lost both 1st round games. 30 wins in college baseball puts you right st .500 winning percentage it's not impressive. As far as recruiting he might not hit the elite talent but his teams have had more than enough talent to make ncaa tourneys in the past he just can't manage a game.

To be fair, there's a major bias on what teams and leagues get at large bids, even more so than basketball. Peers to a memphis like Houston and Rice an have nice little set ups like the Shriner's thing Arkansas is playing in at Houston this weekend where you can get three games against "name" teams early on. Let's take #9 Houston, a fellow AAC, get to play in an event with TT, TCU, Rice, Louisiana Lafayette and Arkansas. Games against ranked teams , could really be big if you win 2 or 3 but Houston is 0-2 so far so there's that as well, kiss that #9 ranking good bye.Still good it's exposure as it was broadcast on the MLB Network.

I'd complain about not getting an at large bid if we had the record to deserve one

RE: Tiger Baseball Needs YOU
I don't think there is a college baseball coach we could hire who can do any better than Schoenrock - in fact, most of them would not do as well. Regardless, the point of my post is that the TEAM needs and deserves our support and I hope that some of you will step up. Vowing to stay away isn't going to force a coaching change. Baseball is a "non-revenue" sport and Schoenrock is seen as a better coach than we deserve by those in charge (appropriately, in my opinion).

So you are saying we don't deserve a coach who can win. He was 25-52 at his only other head coaching job.

It was great to see so many children enjoying the game today, a nice crowd was on hand to watch the 11-5 victory. The young pitcher from CBHS has a gun for an arm, throwing in the low 90s in his brief appearance. I can see him developing into a quality weekend pitcher. On another note, I think Coach Randy Finchtner's son is on the team, my son has a class with him and says he is a good guy. GA, is that Randy's son, he is from Pittsburgh?

As garbage of an index RPI is for basketball, it's magnified that much more for baseball with the increased number of games.

RE: Tiger Baseball Needs YOU
Your kidding right?? There are plenty up and coming motivated aggressive assistant and national coach's that would love to take over this program!
Hey, I've accepted that as long as the program wins around 30 games a year, stays out of trouble it's status quo. I get it. Tom Bowen has the program on cruise control and as long as Rock does the basic's he's got a job. Bowen has bigger issues to deal with (Football and basketball) than try and fart around with the baseball program.
I hope they do well but Rock has proven over 12 years he can't recruit elite players and can't get into the tournament.

That's true to extent but I think there are probably more people here that care about the state of our baseball program than any other non-revenue team - which is to say, I think there is more support for Tigers baseball than there is for Tigers women's basketball.
And the baseball program is well within the conversation to perhaps make an NCAA Tournament most seasons. That's something.
