"They shot basically 70 percent the second half and there wasn't a lot of defensive breakdowns. There was a lot of time we had good 'D' and it was just better offense, and it made it tough.”
"Listen, we gotta (bounce) back. I mean, I love how we played. We had good defense in areas and they had better offense," Pastner said.
Real high level analysis there. Gotta be embarrassing to hear this from a guy you pay 2.65 mil and owe 10.6 mil. I could sell and tell you that info for less that 1000 bucks
We should have won and the defense could have been better.
Having said that, they hit insanely difficult shots and got enough easy ones against some defensive lapses to win. And I'm not blaming the refs, but a couple of calls that seemed off hurt us, and you know I'm not the one to blame the refs.
Having said that, we didn't have luck last night, but you gotta find a way to win games like that. I get how frustrating it is to have guys just not miss, but at some point, the coaching staff has to change the calculus.
Odd thing is the team looked pretty good at times. One of our odd losses where I felt pretty good about the game until late. Honestly, if we're 19-5 and not 14-10, this is the sort of game you shrug and move on with, but we needed this one bad and even if this loss was understandable from a shots/refs/luck perspective, sometimes you just have to not take another loss.
Understandable on some level, but too many understandable losses are still too many losses.

I think the problem is most folks don't realize that the line between winning and losing for most DI programs is a pretty fine one...so you can say the other team did this, refs that, etc...
Main point is, this team could've won, but didn't.
Seems to be a recurring theme and not a one game aberration.
