First half was ugly but that 2nd half and contributions from a full team effort is exactly what I want to be seeing deep into conf play. Good w.

Very good, except for FT shooting. Getting better offensively every game.

How did they beat LaTech? That was may be the worst team we have played at home all season. And yes, that includes Christopher Newport.

Anyways, nice to get a win with an off night from Trey. They rebounded well after that ugly first half. Love that exclamation mark left on the game with Zoran's dunk at the end. On to the San Francisco treat.

UAB and USM going to OT. We want UAB to win as USM is the one middle of the pack team that has the tiebreaker with us.

Where are the complainers from the first half? No congrats on the win, with an off night from Trey? We have a few fans that would rather see us lose so we could hire the next up and coming coach.

Good win Monarchs!

I see plenty of complainers from the first half that are joyful over the second half, I being one of them.

They were correct for both halves.

The first half was painful to watch. For those who could not see it count yourselves fortunate.

It was a good win, and maybe the best aspect was that Trey didn't have to put the team on his back and rescue them. Stith was very good, and Talley is so very impressive. Bacote did a good job of asserting himself in the second half. Of course it was the rebounding in the second half which proved decisive.

Congratulations ODU! On to Rice Saturday.

GO MONARCHS!!!

I really would like to have been in the locker room at half time. That was a super job of regrouping and putting it together in the second half. Stith was the man tonight, but how in the world does the son of a basketball coach shoot so badly at the foul line? If he can get his free throw percentage up to just 65%, he will be a complete beast.

He's going to be the best big man in the conference in two years....maybe even next year. He now knows exactly what he needs to work on. Talley is awesome with confidence. He is unstoppable when he gets to the basket. We are going to be a very big team next year with:

5 Porter/Stith/Kah
4 Stith/kah/Colbert
3 Talley
2 BJ Stith, Haynes
1 caver/evans

Truly awful first half, MUCH better second half.

Good to see we can still win a game without Freeman going for 30.

But man......that team was god awful. I know we play good defense, and tonight it was really good in both halfs, but man, if they had an offensive gameplan, I'll be damned if I know what it was.

The cusa is absolutely dreadful

You know that Taylor is supposed to be back next year too? Also missing Carver and Green who both add size/length at their positions.

I think you'll see Haynes back up Talley next year with baker backing up bj stith. But yeah, I'm excited about the potential of a loaded front court. It's been a while. The guys will be able to play more aggressively as well.. We just have no depth right now, can't afford for stith and Taylor to get in foul trouble. That won't be such an issue next year. I don't think Brandan Stiths form is that bad, he has hit a couple face up jumpers that looked real nice this year. The redshirt and injury probably added a little rust that he's had to shake off. He's shown flashes of a nice offensive game. Just needs to put it all together consistently. He's got all the tools. Think about pairing him with another big that can shoot... Like Kah. That should open up the paint even more for him to operate. Looking forward to having more options up front.

I don't know if Jones challenged the team to step it up Offensively but I think it was a huge step forward to have others taking more shots and not running everything for Freeman. Especially tonight, where he wasn't completely on. It started right from the tip. Freeman only had about 5 shots in the first half. I think it was a huge confidence builder knowing it can be done.

To put things in perspective, we just beat #296 at home. I'll take it, but not going to get too excited or try to make any judgements on the result. It is exactly what should have happened.

I do wish Trey continued the streak. Hope he gets it back next week.

As long as Baker keeps playing defense like he is, he is going to be in the mix for a lot of PT next year.
