RE: No Ivy forum? :(
This could double as an independents forum since "Independents" isn't a conference.

Let's talk Ivy league REALIGNMENT!!!! How about a full merger between the Patriot and Ivy Leagues?!?!? We can have geographic divisions --- 3 divisions of 6!
New England Division: Brown, Boston University, Dartmouth, Harvard, Holy Cross, Yale
New York/New Jersey/Military Division: Army, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Navy, Princeton
Pennsylvania/Southern Division: American, Bucknell, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola, Penn

No. Just no. This isn't 1910.
Cornell used to be amazing in football. They won the 1915 National Championship.

Depends on how good you are at masking your posts.
Some still can't tell the difference.

Who is gaining speed and who does Miko have sources for? Once I know this, I will be good.

What's funny though is, if the Ivy added anyone, who would they add?

I'm looking almost exclusively at the Patriot League, including Georgetown plus Duke as well as Vandy. Syracuse might get a look if athletics wasn't so big and Chicago and most certainly MIT would also get a look.
It would never happen though, as even one school that would open the floodgates tremendously.

Honestly I think the only one from the group they might take would be MIT if they played at a higher level. While other schools have academic cred (like Stanford for instance) I don't think they would really want to expand that far out though I am sure that they may decide to play you outside of football. I think the rest are too devoted to large athletics to make it work out for both parties (yes even Vandy
EDIT Also NYU would be a possibility if they were to somehow want to go Div 1. They won't but if they did they are a school that would fit the mold of the league. They have power, prestige, academic honors, do a ton of research, and have a lot of powerful backers.

NYU was a solid program in the 20's and 30's.

Yeah, NYU for certain, I forgot about them. Add NYU and MIT and you'd have two in Manhattan and two in Cambridge.

I can see Colgate, MIT, NYU, Williams, Amherst, and Georgetown as a stretch (geography isn't great)

Since the NCAA is in Canada now on a limited basis, there may be a few schools, hypothetically, that would be candidates.

So far it's only for D-II, so it would take some time. There's a school in BC that plays D-II.
