Since we don't have a dedicated Ivy League forum, I'll ask here: How regarded are Cornell's teams? Particularly: Football, wrestling and track/xc

No because the Ivy League isn't in the P5 and the schools in the P5 say there is no interest in the non P5 mid major conferences. Ivy League is a mid major conference according to the experts in Espin/P5 Land. Cheers!

But in all seriousness, Cornell's wrestling program has been in the top 3, top 5 about every year for past 10 or 15 years. Great wresting program with multiple all Americans and a phenomenal coach. Rob Kohl wrestled at UNC where he won an NCAA championship in the 80's. His Dad was a legend at Northern Iowa...but I digress. Cornell's wrestling program is HIGHLY regarded. Cheers!
I'd hope Ivy League graduates would have something better to do than patrol message boards more than maybe once or twice a year.
My God, imagine an Ivy League troll, It'd be like Miko with an extremely articulate and excellent vocabulary.

There is an Ivy forum (here), and Cornell is terrible at football (thank God for Columbia) and basketball (well, at least usually). That said, Cornell made the Sweet Sixteen in ~2010 and lost to Kentucky in the Carrier Dome (oddly enough). Also, I want to say that Cornell knocked off Kansas that year in the regular season. If not, then they gave KU one heck of a game. I can't remember exactly.

As already mentioned Cornell wrestling, lacrosse, and hockey are consistently very, very good.

I'm honestly not sure how Cornell track/XC shakes out. I doubt that they're terrible, but I would be surprised if they're great.

These threads usually devolve into a theory that Cornell should go to the B1G. Before we hit that point, I want to jump in and so "no, the Big Red shouldn't. It should stay in the Ivy League always and forever."
are you accusing me of trolling?!

The football team won 2 games in the last 2 years (combined). Both games were against Columbia. So no, the Big Red is terrible in football.

Thanks for the rundown of athletic pedigree! :D Was never going to advocate conference move.
What a moribund forum. :(

No kidding!
Cornell has had some great hockey teams over the years. They periodically make the Frozen Four, and were dominant in the late 60's with Ken Dryden. Whatever you do, don't mention his name to a Bruins fan.
I'm from Boston, but not a puckhead.

Cornell has the only undefeated and untied NCAA national championship team ever. I want to say it was '67, but it might have been something like '70. We had 2 NC's in a very short amount of time back then.

Hey, sorry for late response but orange answered it. As he and I both said they have 3 very outstanding Olympic sports programs. Football isn't that great. Cheers!

That was pretty good.
They also had a ton of forums with Ivy in the Roman Empire. 07-coffee3
Well, there isn't an Independents forum either and we have more relevance than the Ivy League.
