For example...
Womens Game
Buffet/Cash Bar (must have wristband given out at women's game to enter)
Mens Game

This is about getting people in the convo and making it as cheap and easy as possible...not giving them hoops to jump thru for no reason what so ever.

This is about supporting NIU athletics. Some fan you are if you consider going to a women's game a hoop to jump through.
How was that women's cross country meet you went to?

Dumb comparison. I work midnights. I don't attend any NIU events due to my work schedule.

No, we have no interest in using our once a month grandma babysitter date night on something like this. Basketball holds zero interest for my wife and I am only putting this event on our schedule because its free for us to get in.

Quote:I also seem to recall you having issues during football games with your children not sitting still/wanting to leave early. I'm sure you view it as a family activity but wouldn't it be nice to go out every once in awhile with your wife or friends and not have to deal with that?
The Saturday football games have been easy to deal with because we were very fortunate to get a parking spot close to the stadium. As the weather is nice enough they could sit in the car for the 4th quarter and have a snack or just pass out in their car seats.

To be honest my wife and I both look forward to our empty nest years but we know that now is family time and we are not going to get it back.

Quote:The money you saved on tickets/snacks for the kids could be used to hire a baby sitter for a couple hours.

That's just it I don't spend money on tickets for the kids...If its not free for them to get in I don't even consider attending anything other than football as its just not worth it for me. We spend on average $8 total in concessions per game and that's it.

it is amazing how many people will drive 20 miles for a free hot dog and a Coke. I talked my friends into it.

Count me and my wife in. Very much worth the hour and a half drive to see a finally competitive basketball team and attendance should be strong to make this a fun game

So the men's game was just moved to Friday night because of TV coverage. WTF?

If this is true (I have heard nothing from NIU), looks like once again a game with Toledo is pushed to a weeknight for TV. What will happen with the "Spring Homecoming"?

Oh well, I'll be there anyway on the 23rd for the women's game.

Is it possible to cancel my ticket order now? I can understand them doing a time change but changing the day of game is absolutely ridiculous. How can they not expect people to not go now.

I'm guessing myself and about 6-8 others won't be there now. Good stuff MAC. I should also mention that it would have been the first basketball game all of those other people have been to in years.

Crazy-you joked about the MAC moving our weekend games to weekdays, but I actually didn't think they would move the day this year. Guess I won't be going to the game.

That's right! I forgot about that. I bought tickets for this game for my guests. WTF? Now they have to set up refunds?? This is a mess. How can they change a game date less than 2 weeks before the event? (I understand changing the time.) And that blows their "Spring Homecoming".

And the worst part is there's NO WAY they're gonna get the word out to EVERYBODY. Wait'll Saturday when some folks show up for the Men's Game.
