True --- a P5 invite will solve a lot of problems. Our money (aka booster money) isn't unlimited.

I wish other people's money was unlimited. But since it isn't, this "new" money flowing in a new direction, football, is flowing the best course ... the long term interests of the University. If we can somehow turn those numerous football investments into a B12 invite it'll easily be worth it. We have to try.

What it seems that A LOT of folks willfully ignore just to further the $$$ agenda is that there are basketball only boosters/ambassadors who could give a flip about football.

THOSE guys buying out Pastner means nothing to the P5 effort because they weren't going to give their money to football or football related projects EVER.

And there are a quite a few of those guys.

The simplest fact in ALL of this is that Pastner is here this year because Rudd gave him another year.

P5 certainly hasn't helped pearl any. seeing him now makes me wonder if he isn't on the downward spiral unless he could happen to do wonders at memphis exponentcially more than what he's doing at auburn. we'd all be asking if we have the pastner 6 year itch if he had that record here last year to now. what do i know?

No 'we' didn't all eat it up. Cal is a good coach but I never liked him for a variety of reasons. The way he left was just the icing. When BP first got to UT I liked him as a coach but later his behaviors made me change my mind. I'd rather be mediocre with Josh than have BP. BP is a good coach but lacks character. If you only care about W/L and don't care about the risk of embarrassment to the university then I can see why some like him.

BTW.. I'm not suggesting mediocrity is acceptable. The point is there are other options.
