Yes the LA tan building has been cleared. There is a development fence around the lot so likely last season was the last tailgating season there.

I said maybe, there's just plans and ideas. Nothing set in stone.

But no, i can't share the ideas. I only like 1 of them though

Actually now that I think about it, that area was described as a possible New Athletic entry way/New Parking structure in the Master Plan Thesis.

As you of course know.......

I have not read anything in the BOT minutes about NIU having anything to do with this property so I don't thing there will be much direct involvement. Also the Popeyes was already slated for one of the sections of the lots.

Oh, I miss Rick's Red Apple. I liked their pizza.

My dad used to take us there for a hot dog and fries before going to Chick Evans.
Hotdog and fries for a buck., deep dish pizza. $6

I am in agreement with the city...more parking spots are needed for the apartment.

I do wish that they could finalize the hotel and get that going asap though. Its on a different block than the apartment so its not like the design of the apartment complex will change the hotel layout.

Aren't the hotel and apartments on the same plot as the NB&T Bank?

They are proposed on the block between the NBT Bank and Pearl St. What is funny is the Chronicle describes the property as being a mile ans a half from campus. At most it is 150 yards. A mile and a half gets you to the convo.

It needs more parking than proposed. Also some type of retail development ( Starbucks, Noodles, etc).

They don't want to overload it with commercial and make it more difficult for the downtown storefronts to stay full. They do though need 2 or 3 storefronts along that stretch so it doesn't look like a commercial desert. A Starbucks, 7-11 and subway kind of a thing?

Hope this gets done this time around.

Commercial desert? What the hell do you mean to say?
You do realize that would be about eight or nine normal city blocks from a current Subway on the same side of Lincoln Highway and also a Starbucks on the opposite side. I'm sure Hickey's -- a long-time business that supports Huskie athletics -- appreciates you wanting a 7-11 in the very next block.

I know what will attract more recruits, keep kids in town on weekends to attend more sporting events, AND provide a boost to "communiversity"...

A STRIP CLUB RIGHT THERE

Tell the townies "i know you hate the university and all those darned kids... but come see them topless now!"

And before anyone jumps on me, yes this is a joke...

If it's by the lagoon, I'd call it "The Wet Spot". And yes, I do need to find a replacement for the Grotto - fast. My calluses have developed pustules!

Ya I didn't get why they are saying that. 1.5 Miles from that intersection gets you to the Convo.

The developer really just needs to remove a floor off his apartment development. There was talk about retail on the first floor to begin with, is that still the case?
