how do they determine which games get televised on the U or ESPN2 once we get into the 3rd round games? I hope we have the opportunity to show case BFS FINALLY. By my recollection, this would be the first opportunity the expanded BFS could be shown on an ESPN network (don't count ESPN3).

I would guess it would be the higher seeds get first dibs?

Im sure its all about matchups though. Im wondering would it be which are more intriguing matchups? You're gonna get a hell of a lot more people watching the JMU game on the eastern seaboard than most FCS schools.

This is where having gameday will help. ESPN loved it here and would jump at a chance to come back for a game (easy cross-promotion)

you would think that a tv exec would be looking for the most intriguing matchup or at the very least whichever fan base has proven to draw the best ratings historically. However, the past five or so years have shown they just give the two TV games to the two highest remaining seeds. Since NDSU never gets beaten in the playoffs, it's always been them and whoever is #2.
It also looks like they put the #1 on friday and #2 or whatever remains on saturday. I guess friday night is considered more "marquee" of a time slot.

Not a ton of thought goes into this, from what I've seen the last few years. They just give it to NDSU or some other random game on the east coast that might bring random, casual viewers.

I would love for our game to be televised on an ESPN network, but don't forget that all the cameras setup on the new side, leaving not so attractive views of the Godwin side for most of the broadcast.

There were a # of years where ESPN televised 2 qtrfinal games on ESPN2/ESPNU, but the last couple of years tge 3rd round/qtrfinals have all been ESPN3. This year the same?

All first and second round games are only on espn3.

Two quarterfinal games will be televised. One on Friday at 8pm (probably on espn2) and one on saturday at 12pm (probably on espn). They will likely prioritize the highest remaining seed for that saturday game and second highest seed on friday. The other two remaining games will be saturday on espn3.

The semifinal games will be televised. Friday at 8pm on espn2 and saturday at 4pm on espnu. I would guess they'll prioritize the highest remaining seed for the friday game and the second highest seed for saturday.

I've seen them prioritize the highest seeds (regardless of who they are) and the higher seed usually gets the bigger network to show their game on (ESPN then ESPN2 then ESPNU). I think the one exception was #2 ODU had the saturday ESPN game in the quarterfinals while the #1 seed was pushed to the "lesser" espn2 broadcast.

Basically... JMU has to rely on at least three of the top four seeds getting upset in the second round to have a TV game. Not likely.

Does espn3 archive games for viewing, or do you have to watch live?

Yes, they are usually up less than an hour after the games too.

If we can beat UNH and McNeese gets upset it would set up a home game on the 12th the same day MBB plays GMCC

So apparently WIU had a watch party at 6/5 and Craig Haley called it Saturday night - you think they had some advance notice?
