On an aside, why on Earth are the Buffalo/Kent and BSU/WMU games on Thursday? Neither are on TV and only Buffalo/Kent is on ESPN 3. Mind boggling
BSU - WMU is playing nationally on the CBS sports network, so that's why it's not on ESPN3
D'oh!
Should have realized that was the case. ESPN didn't list any network

RE: Week 10 Pick'em
Second straight week that UB has to play on the road on Thursday night and is relegated to ESPN3. Does the MAC care at all about the STUDENT-athlete? Why are they forcing UB to miss multiple days of school for games that don't even make it on television??

Right. Because football is the only sport that has competitions on weekdays.

It is a complete joke, no doubt about it. No vision of growth, no vision for what really matters. The ESPN partnership really feels like a prison relationship. When they want some, they will come take it without asking.

Look football is meant to be played on Saturday's but you give that up to be on National Television. Plus, football is also taxing on the body. So you asked Miami and Buffalo to have only four days in-between games just so they can be on ESPN3?? They also could have been on the exact same network at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon.

I'm not going to play pickem, but I will pick on the persons who ask why so many mid-week games...
This week we have several marque games on ESPN2.
A meaningful game (BSU @ WMU) on CBS Sports Network.
The mid-week game with 'low meaning', UB @ Kent, will be ESPN3.
And a CBS Sports Network game Saturday (Akron/UMass).
The marque games are going solo and no World Series to boot. And no presidential election (but we will have that situation next November).
It is crunch time within conference and I don't see Toledo, BG, WMU, etc. getting beaten.
A real game of pickem would be Akron vs. UMass... or EMU @ MIA.

RE: Week 10 Pick'em
Couple of points or questions:
1). Are all teams making at least one mid-week appearance this year? EMU did last week. I believe it is fair to say that EMU liked the national exposure on CBSSN.
2). Sure some games are dogs and playing them mid-week on ESPN3 isn't optimal, but it is the price we have to pay for the NATIONAL EXPOSURE most teams and the league as a whole gets.
3). Who (or how many) would watch NIU/UT and OU/BG if they were playing on a Saturday? 50% of the audience? Less?
4). When we talk about one game, e.g., UB/KSU, are we 'cherry picking' an outcome we don't like?

RE: Week 10 Pick'em
NIU @ #20 Toledo - Had UT been healthy during their game with the Huskies last year, then they would have easily won - no QB and having to take away one of your WRs to play that position on top of it, is a huge disadvantage. Even so, they still almost won. This year, NIU does not have a chance.
WED 11/4
Ohio @ BGSU - Ohio started out strong, but are petering now. BG on the other hand, is red hot. They should win by several scores.
THUR 11/5
Buffalo @ Kent St. - This one is tough, but my gut is telling me that Kent will pull it out in a close game.
Ball St. @ WMU - Western has this one for sure, but Ball St. is not going to go down easy. I see a shoot out here.
SAT 11/7
Akron @ UMass - UMass played tough against Temple and lead UT at the half, but they just seem to lack what is needed to finish. I see another close battle, but Akron will pull it out in the end.
EMU @ Miami Will be a close game and can easily go either way. My guess is that Miami will win, but this prediction is purely a shot in the dark.

Now you're changing your story. Is it about the student athletes or that football is taxing on the body?

Nope. It is hopeless, NIU might as well save their money and time and just stay home. Have a team pizza party instead.

We had no chance in Arkansas.. College football is crazy. I would never call a 7 point underdog not to showup for lack of hope.

I do not need to re-watch the OSU NIU game.
However, I do take my prediction back as clearly I have failed to realize just how much UT has become the Huskies' *****. You are already coming up with excuses for the loss.
I am feeling better already about our chances to win the MAC this year.
