ESPN has it marked as us favorites by 20. It's lowering. Who knows. By Thursday it could be only 8!
EASTERN STATISTICS:
PASSING: Good completion % (63%), partially due to their effective running game to mix things up but also not doing anything crazy on passing (6.5 yds/pass). High INT %. 11 TD, 11 INT. Their secondary QB (Bell) can run when let lose to gain some yards (3.6 y/c), their normal starter (Roback) really doesn't (0.9 y/c).
RUSHING: They're good at rushing. Their main guy Jackson has 12 TDs, averaging 5.5 yds a carry. Their secondary QB Vann averages 6.3 yds a carry with about half the attempts (5 TDs).
KICKING: Pretty decent FG kicker. Never missed an XP (25/25). Has missed a couple 30-something-yarders out of 4 attempts, but is 2/2 within the 40-49, and 2/3 in the 50+ range. Expect them to kick some FGs against us.
OFFENSIVELY: 27.4 pts a game. They're not powerful, but they are certainly NOT anemic. If you have a weak D, they'll put points on you. They played LSU, Toledo, and NIU already -- and scored 20+ points on each.
DEFENSE PASSING: Folks throw 59.1% against them, and even though that isn't a great %, it averages 2TD, 0INT for 181.3 yds a game (only nabbed 1 INT in its 8 games).... on about 7.3 yards/passing attempt.
DEFENSE RUSHING: Folks average 6.6 yards a carry against them, with 30 TDs in 8 games (3.75TDs/game). People like to Eat Them Up on rushing. EMU gives up 340.5 rushing yards a game! That's where people go. Their Pass D isn't that bad, but their Rush D is.
DEFENSIVELY: 44.5 pts a game. We should expect to score around 40-ish.
Expect our running game to do well, to get the two of RBs to have 150+ yards this game... and Terrell to only throw for 200-ish yards, due to some rain and the heavy push for running.
Due to it being a running game both ways eating up clock, I'd be surprised if we broke into 50pts without the help of EMoo turnovers. I expect to score a little over 40. Maybe some sloppiness on our parts helps EMU score more than we want them to.
