Utah at USC

if Utah beats Stanford at home the week before, this could be a clash of two unbeatens with plenty of storylines....USC, Heisman front-runner.

Before the season, Utah at USC was the only game I thought might keep CGD from coming to Harrisonburg. It was actually the only game I mentioned in the post I used to bump this thread.
http://csnbbs.com/thread-752769-post-144...id14444163

Before the season, I assumed the SEC would get looks from ESPN in week 6 (10/7) as they could choose from Bama/A&M or LSU/UF and then again in week 8 (10/21) with Tennessee/Bama and I doubted that they would feature the SEC three weeks in a row. Now the FSU/Miami game has been moved to week 6 and seems like a shoe-in for a CGD visit and the Michigan/Penn St matchup in week 8 looks very promising for CGD.
With that said, the SEC is prime for an appearance in week 7 and if Auburn and LSU keep winning and stay in the top 15 then it might be hard for them to skip that game.

Yeah if Auburn and LSU keep winning up to that point, it's kind of hard to imagine them picking the right purple and gold. I'm sure they'd like to find any chance to come back to Harrisonburg, not just that game, but I don't really see any other possibilities that wouldn't require something way crazier than Florida over LSU(and hopefully Florida over LSU would be enough).

I was going to say 10/28 vs. New Hampshire, then realized I over looked Penn State at Ohio State. But I guess some big upset of one of those two teams along the way is something we can also hope for. The only other top 25 matchups that week by the current rankings are UCLA(25) at Washington(6) and Georgia(13) vs. Florida(24).

That would be an interesting Fitting vs Herbstreit, JMU / tO$U tug of war. Remember that Ohio State did just get their ****s handed to them, at home, by Oklahoma.

Then this happened on their 50 yard line.

Not a lot of fight in the Bucks this year. They'll lose again.

LOL, a few ECU fans were shocked to hear "hey hey hey goodbye" chant from the JMU section. Can only imagine what they would have thought of a planted flag.

Truly the only reason he did that was in prep for the Draft season when he'll get asked about it.

Personally I love the fiery side that he shows and he's easily one of my favorite QB's to watch

absolutely agree - i just think an NFL team would respect a statement like "I was celebrating an exciting moment - i back my team 100% over the competition - and we want to beat them again next time."

I wonder who will win the most games this year Texas St or ECU.

Also wonder who will be the first to replace their coach. Can't
Imagine either will still be there in 3 years...

That's really dumb. They are rightfully getting destroyed on Twitter for this decision.

I THINK both will make it through this year, but if ECU keeps getting throttled by 3+ TDs, it will be difficult to keep Scottie out of the potty.

Temple looked flat out uninspiring against what I still think is an overrated Villanova team. ECU could beat Temple.

As for our league - Villanova narrowly loses against Temple, eeks out a win at Lehigh, then Lehigh goes on the road and gets annihilated by Monmouth. In other news, it looks like UNH may surprise to the upside...again.

They'll pack the Colosseum when USC is good, but other than that, they couldn't care less. It's really not a very good sports town at all - very into things if you're winning (Lakers, Clippers, USC, Dodgers), but the place is empty otherwise. Of course, there are quite a few distractions out in that part of the world to divert a young man's attention away from sports.

ECU will probably pull the trigger first if they can afford the buyout. They may try replacing coordinators first though. Think they might still be paying out on Ruff, and they seem to believe Mo is a good recruiter.

Tx St seems to be resigned to a longer rebuilding period, and probably gives Withers time (4 year cycle) to have all his recruits in place. They would also be happy with a winning record and probably have lower expectations overall than ECU.

So what other matchups got beaten out by NYC? Are there any marquee games involving undefeated/ranked teams?

Well they do support USC and UCLA at 67-68k each. You could total up every FCS, FBS DII, DIII, NAIA and JUCO school within 30 miles of NYC and I doubt you'd get half of what USC draws. Some of that support has to come from the LA locals.
