There is a better chance of P5 becoming P4. The same will happen to the AAC as always happened to C-USA: the top of the conference will elevate themselves by leaving. It is the name of the game. Don't be surprised, though, that when they bolt, they do not quite get what they bargained for, kinda like last time, arriving at a party a little too late and all of the pretty girls are gone...
Seems to be plenty of pretty girls running around from where I'm sitting.
Just added another quality P5 scalp to the conference collection.

No. It's an embarrassment and makes us look small time. It wasn't that long ago that we were in a power conference competing for a national championship. Those memories are fading from the national consciousness and storming the field against an average team won't help our perception.
You're overthinking it. Most people watching have turned away from the game by then. And, it's students. They're having fun. The more fun they have at a game, the more invested in the program they become. It's good for the future. Who cares?

Announcers were like "access bowl slot could go to an AAC team if they go undefeated in conference, but Toledo looking pretty good..."
Please. Toledo has two wins over mediocre (at best) P5 teams and won't be challenged in conference except by Bowling Green. AAC is a legitimate tough conference with parity through 5 teams (at least) in Memphis, Temple, Houston, Cincinnati and Navy. With a few other strong-looking teams not far behind.
Toledo deserves to be in the conversation, don't get me wrong, but it's silly to me to think they would get the access spot over a 1-loss or even a 2-loss AAC team.
That was terrible commentary. The AAC is now clearly the top G5 (I hate that bull**** differentiator) conference. With all due respect to Toledo, there's no "could" about it.

We may dislike each other MOST of the season, but on nights like this. When it's an AAC team vs anyone else, we've got your back.

Can't do that in Memphis with Tom the tiger prowling the sidelines.
Yeah, this game probably wasn't storm-the-field worthy, but the seats literally go right down to field level and it's pretty much impossible to stop the students if they want to run. In fact, the students ran on to the field immediately after the announcement telling them not to.
And some color to this, pretty much the entire Miami team taunted the student section before the game began, which I think is kind of a stupid move.

The MAC is tougher than it looks, not that it's gonna matter one way or another for Toledo. But the MAC's non-conference performance this year has been outstanding, with many good wins and near misses.

Sure it is, that's not deniable. The MAC always plays some good competitive football, but As of now Arkansas isn't good, and Iowa State is even worse. Toledo is a good football team who was truly better than those teams at least at this point in the season.
I'm anxious to see how Toledo is going to do against BGSU.
