My guess is, we'll have at least three different starting lineups in the first five games -- maybe more if we get throttled in another exhibition game.

Right.

It should've been established a long time ago - choose a philosophy/style of play and find a rotation early each season.

We're how many years in under Pastner and I can't even tell you what kind of team we want to be.

Given the defensive deficiencies of a lot of the projected starters, we should primarily be a zone team next year.

That's what I said last year too.

Our guards should be big enough to auto switch on some screens as well.

Zone, don't extend past the three point line, run when you have the opportunity.

We could've been great in a zone last season. King wouldn't have been such a liability, nor would Kedren.

Stupid comment, actually.

Josh needs to be starting the Lawson bros and Crawford and giving them atleast 25 minutes per night each, if not more. His reputation in Memphis is shot and he can't afford to have these three get pissed as him if he wants to maintain the small chance he has of keeping his job.

I'm not sure it matters what Josh does next season, to be honest. Austin was mana from heaven for him, and he couldn't keep him in the flock.

What's stupid is voicing your same opinion over and over on a message board even though you have no power to alter the situation.

My guess
PG - Kedren Johnson
SG - Ricky Tarrant
SF - Trashon Burrell
PF - Dedric Lawson
C - Shaq Goodwin

First of the bench Markel Crawford, KJ Lawson

I think that lineup is probably the best going into the season. I don't know if it will be good enough to win the league title, but I think it is good enough to make the tourny as a 10th seed.

Likely.

Still a solid team...a few others will be out there, Woodson with more experience than last season. The bulk of those guys will all be Better than last season, and it is possible that Shaquille and Kedren may play much better. Kids have credentials and enough experience that even early, they should be solid.

Not as solid as with the kid who was highlighted last year even at the cost of others development, then had that kid decide to leave a team that likely had much of its pre prep thoughts being an offense running through him.

I don't think anyone thinks the team will not be good next year. Hell, last year's catastrophe was actually 18-14 and that included a 1-6 or something record without the best player, who will be doing nothing next year.

Will be good, but had a chance to be top twenty good...which is less likely now. And for what?

He's probably not keeping his job but his Dada up in Lexington will be there to scoop him up if he's canned here or doesn't want to resurface at a low mid-major hc job.

If he makes the tournament he can leave and go take another head job at another mid-major (which is what we are now) bb school with lower expectations.

If he misses the tournament next year and is fired Dada Cal will hire him and he still gets to leave with a few extra million in his pocket.

He literally cannot lose but he's pretty well screwed up our program. I'm convinced he'll be out of here and he's leaving the program in a mess behind him.

We need Pearl to come in here and it'll take even someone of his caliber 2-3 seasons to fix things (meaning season 3 or 4 to be more than a fringe tournament type team).

All you have to do is blank the names out and leave the accomplishments in and ask what are expectations for this roster in the American Athletic Conference next season.

The fact that most are predicting doom and gloom for Pastner says all you ever need to know.

We have one power forward on the roster; a 17 year old who is 6'8 and weighs 195 pounds, who should be in his last year of high school. The only other power forward on the roster; Hawkins isn't medically cleared to play.

So?

You wanna switch rosters with South Carolina or Ole Miss?

Which AAC schools have better rosters than Memphis? Which have 2 McDaa and seven 4* recruits?

It certainly isn't ideal to have that little depth in the front court, but in the AAC it surely isn't a deal breaker.

Dayton's top six scorers last year were 6'1, 6'2, 6'4, 6'4, 6'6 and 6'6. They made it to the round of 32 in the NCAA's.

VCU had two players on their team last year taller than 6'6 who actually played appreciable minutes. They combined for 30 mpg.
