The BHam Bowl is toast. It's a matter of time and we've all seen it coming...and no, that doesn't mean that the AAC/SEC tie in will "transfer" to another bowl game. It means the exact opposite. One less P5 opponent for us. BTW, the newly proposed bowl game in Austin will not be an option for the AAC. They've been going out of their way saying who they want....and who they don't. Coog fans on here who read the local papers know what I'm talking about....
Believe it or not, those local papers are available online for people all over the world to read.
And other articles outside Texas have said the same thing: The Austin Bowl is looking for a P5-P5 matchup. Good luck to them.
And regardless, the B'Ham Bowl is going nowhere, b/c the SEC will stick with it in their home town. You Texas guys probably missed the articles on the subject.
Well, i guess I did. What happened?
All one needs to do is go to the Birmingham City Council site and read the minutes which is what I did yesterday. The answer has been there for nearly a day. Since I believe in teaching one to fish, I will let one of the AAC brethren post the answer and link.
I decided to take the bait and fish for myself. This is from the meeting highlights. So it appears to have been approved. So Birmingham bowl lives on....
