I'm sorry if I'm not understanding correctly, but is that your reason for why CSU, AF, Fresno, & SDSU would jump ship and join the AAC?

A sh*tload more money.

If it appears that things get stable for some time, Aresco will be able to negotiate a better deal than the aac has now, with a national name in AF and teams in big tv markets in California. The AAC already makes significantly more than the MW teams (hell, the BE teams make more money in basketball alone than the MW makes in dual sports) and with the BSU money slant, teams will jump at the chance to get out of the crack-whore contract they currently have the the MW.

SO if I'm Boise St, Im' real nervous right now about any alignment, because unless the PAC or B1X suddenly have a desire to add a school with no tv market, they are stuck on an island to nowhere. And there's enough ill-will towards BSU that the AAC will rather them rot than ever invite them again. I could see SDSU thinking the same thing.

the PAC will never take Boise. That's an impossibility. Also, you may have a little "ill will" towards Boise. Just a little. Cheers!

The only way the pac invites us is if we improve on our academics SIGNIFICANTLY. Right now the necessary steps toward improving them are being taken. We've improved a lot in 15 years, but still have a while to go.

The PAC is also going to need a legit reason to expand. Right now, and for the foreseeable future, there isn't one.

Geography wise BSU fits very well into the pac, our market is growing very fast, and who knows how big boise will be in 15-20 years. However I think a lot of people get caught up in BSU's small market (even though Wazzu & Oregon St. seem to be doing okay in theirs). ESPN made their own special deal with us for a reason, people watch us. No one can deny the fact that BSU has created a national brand name, that makes for pretty good TV (The 3 fiesta bowls, Georgia game, Vtech game, etc. All were must watch, primetime games)

The majority of BSU fans realize the PAC is a pipe dream, and we still have a ways to go. Doesnt keep us from having a little hope though. 04-cheers

I agree. I'm not a Boise hater. The point where your off is that you compared Boise with Washington St and Oregon St. Those two are much more highly respected state universities and peer schools to the rest of the PAC schools...its not about market size, its about respect and being country club members. They are, and you guys, well, you know. I respect what you guys have done on the field. Feel good about the fact that so many on here hate you guys. It means people are noticing. I don't know why they spend so much time obsessing on a school they repeatedly say they want nothing to do with, but they do. Read the posts on here about you guys, its pretty entertaining stuff! Cheers!

When I compared OSU & Wazzu to boise I was comparing their locations & market sizes. Corvallis & Pullman compared to Boise in terms of size, amount of fans, etc. I'm well aware OSU & Wazzu are much more respected schools than BSU is.

I didn't mean disrespect. ECU deals with a similar situation with the ACC 4. They would never allow ECU in the country club (ACC) Although I've heard on here both ECU and Boise are candidates for the big 12. We can hope!

I won't give up..but..It would a tough blow. At that point I would advocate going back to independent. It would mean playing a lot of high dollar away games in tough places. That would be fine with me. I really have no interest in returning to the CUSA paradigm.

Being realistic....Our chances of going anywhere are damn near zilch. The best we can hope for is that the B12 goes after schools outside the AAC and it remains intact. Any defections are going to be a major problem for us. There are not good replacements for any teams that leave. The only other possibility I suppose is some type of new nationwide super conference made up of 16 of best red headed step children left over.

If I'm UCF or ECU my main hope is that the B1G gobbles up more ACC schools.

The AAC will lose half the conference to the new b12 when the TExoma 4 bolt.
