RE: CWS
Miami led Florida 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 4th inning. Then the wheels fell off. Following two Miami errors, Florida's next 10 batters went 9 of 10 at the plate & UF tied an all-time CWS record with 11 runs in an inning.

12-2 Florida after four.

I don't really follow college baseball, but it would be nice to have an ACC team win. Who is left, and what are the odds of an ACC team taking home some hardware?

Since Miami lost their first game they now have to win four straight to make to the finals. Not likely. UVa won their first game so they can make it to the finals with two or 3 wins. Better odds but Florida will likely win the bracket that UVa and Miami is in.

RE: CWS
My money was on the winner of last night's Miami/UF game to advance to the title series. That would be Florida now. I won't discount UVA however. They keep winning despite the lackluster regular season and if they beat UF on Monday, they are in the driver's seat to make the championship series.

Miami wins 4-3 in a walk-off elimination game over Arkansas this evening. The Hogs are done, with a T-7th finish.

UVA plays Florida later tonight. The loser plays Miami in an elimination game on Wed. The winner tonight is off until Friday, and then needs to win only 1 of 2 to advance to the title series.

Congrats to the Hoos on the win last night. They need to beat the winner of Miami vs Florida 1 out of 2 to make the title series.

As expected in the other bracket, Fullerton is the 0-2 club. LSU awaits the loser of TCU/Vandy.

Florida beats Miami again, this time 10-2. The Canes are eliminated after UF dropped 25 runs on them over 2 games in Omaha. The remaining field is:

Virginia vs #4 Florida (Cavs need to win 1 of 2 to advance)

#7 TCU vs #2 LSU (Elimination game)
Vandy vs Winner (Vandy needs to win 1 of 2 to advance)

Cavs tame the Gators! Now face Vanderbilt in rematch of last year's finals. ACC still in the mix for its first championship in 60 years.

I have mixed feelings here. Do we really want to take that singular accomplishment from Wake Forest? Theirs wasn't just the first ACC championship. It was the only one.

Go Hoos!

Let's hope history does not repeat itself. This is the first rematch series since Oregon State beat Carolina in the championship series in 2006 and in 2007.

Yes, because every ACC has to hear about the 1955. Astonishing the 2nd best baseball conference in the country hasn't won one in some 60 years.
