CHAMPS!
And Virginia wins the Capital One Cup as the best men's program in the nation this year, having won two of the six major sports that are scored 3x the points of all other sports (the 6 major ones are: soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, and outdoor track).

Strange how things work sometimes. UVa's men's basketball team was so dominant all year and injury knocks us off and we couldn't recover well enough to get past the sweet 16. Then the baseball team has injuries all year that forced young players to grow up and by the end of the long season they pull out a championship.

Could Virginia have accomplished this same feat in any other Conference?

I think after Louisville and Miami there were about 6-8 acc schools that were all very, very good ball clubs and that parity of competition really helps for the post season.

Possibly eventually but doubtful... The Big 10 is a poor baseball conference. Illinois had a gaudy record but had no chance against Vandy. Indiana has been similar. Maryland will start to decline in baseball soon nationally.

There is little to no emphasis basketball in the SEC outside of Kentucky. While the coaching hires may lift them eventually, Bennett would lose alot of benefits he currently enjoys. Florida without Billy D. robs the SEC of even a 2nd level program at the moment.

The Big 12 has clearly slipped across the board in all sports, and the Pac 12 isn't in play.

The ACC is right geographically and athletically for what Virginia has accomplished in recent years.
