The Hoo pitching staff, particularly after the starter, is not impressive looking.

I don't care for Vandy. Every one of their hitters has a batting routine that borders on mini-series. And they LOVE to call time LATE after a pitcher is already in the wind up. And for some reason the ump is giving it to them. AFAIC if the pitcher is mid wind up you're too late.

Yep, the bullpen has been a weakness all year. Hell, we barely made it into the ACC tournament, so all of this has been gravy.

Freshmen are carrying UVA this game. 3-0 lead Hoos and threatening for more, bottom of the 6th.

This game is being played in geologic time. The last two innings feel like they've taken an hour. They may actually have.

Hoos just can't take the win and go away. Tieing run at the plate in the 9th no outs.

Cavs even it up thanks especially to mostly first year players! One game now for the championship! Could this be ACC's year?

14 of the 30 players on the roster are freshmen.

I have no idea how this Virginia team is a game away from the title, but they have it working. It'd be interesting if they come out of no where as a 3 seed in their regional to win it all after numerous ACC teams with a top seed haven't been able to win over the last 60 years.

Talk about unexpected. All that matters is they won when it counted, but these stats show how out of left field this title is. The Cavs were 15-15 in ACC play and a 3 seed. According to ESPN they also have the lowest win total of any national champion since USC won it all in 1968.

They end the 60 year ACC drought though.

Swept by VT.....seems to be a trend in Nat' Champs this year.
