It's at USM.
Yikes. Really bad time for this to happen. USM has to be the favorite with the way they've been playing. They'll be highly motivated too, because it is their ticket to the dance.
Is there ever a good time to be in Hattiesburg?
It's really not that awful a place, despite last week's event.

UCLA will be a national seed, but they are the only Western team likely to host, unless UCSB (#14 RPI) can overtake CSF (currently with a one-game lead, with no conference tourney) in the Big West. The only other Western teams locked to make the post-season at all are: #32 Arizona State, likely WAC champion #43 Nevada, and whomever wins the West Coast Conference tourney. I don't see any other at large teams (#47 Cal being the closest, and they're currently outside the bubble, IMO).
Walt ... I think you left out USC.

Talk about! From Baseball America's chat today:
Quote:Kurt (Oregon): Do you think the Pac-12 is likely to get a second hosting gig? UCSB can't easily host - is it likely they'll be a #1 seed at one of the Pac-12 schools? If so, do you think it comes down to the winners of the OSU-Cal series and the USC-ASU series this weekend? Who do you think has the edge? Will the best RPI win out, or will a second place finisher be likely given the nod?
Jim Shonerd: If USC wins tonight at Cal, that gives them a clear leg up on the other three given the RPI situation. The Trojans are 22, and the next closest are the Beavers at 32. If Cal wins, then I’d make OSU the favorite, but it would really come down those series this weekend. Plus you’ve got Fullerton coming on strong. Possible they could snatch a hosting bid instead of a 2nd or 3rd Pac-12 team.
. . . .
Oliver CB (Rossmoor, CA): ... What are your thoughts on UCLA and the rest of the Pac12 heading into the post-season? Do you think pitching and defense will still dominate TDAmeritrade Park at the College World Series or do they new bats change the equation? Thanks!
Jim Shonerd: Based on the numbers we’ve seen from Creighton’s games at TDAP, the formula for winning there won’t change that much. As for the Pac, you’ve got a national title contender in UCLA and then four teams in OSU, USC, Cal and ASU that are good enough to win a regional but do have flaws. Talked about how those 4 teams are jockeying for potential hosting bids. Can’t see anyone else getting a bid.

In Berkeley tonight, Cal whupped the Trojans, 7-2, to take the past weekend's series, 2-1. USC out-hit the Bears, 8-7, but Trojan pitchers walked 9 Cal batters.

Regarding the ticket discussion above, I just received an email from the Rice Ticket office inviting season ticket holders to pre-purchase their seats for the **POSSIBILITY** of hosting a regional or superregional. Credit cards will be charged only if Rice actually hosts a regional or super.

As I suspected (why he was yanked after just one inning on Saturday), FIU will be starting their ace, So RHP Chris Mourelle, tomorrow vs. Jordan Stephens.

RE: C-USA Baseball Tournament Bracket 2015
Does anyone know if it is possible to order the video coverage for just the tournament? I can't see it on the web site. What's the deal?

The Blue Raiders scored 2 in B9 and had the tying run at the plate with 2 out and a 3-2 count ... but lost, 9-7.
