Edited mine. I think techdawg88's link links to this article:

White will bring both Jordan Mincy and Darris Nichols to Gainesville as assistants, sources told CBSSports.com. Both were assistants under White at Louisiana Tech. He will hold the final spot for Dusty May, who will attempt to get the head coaching job at Louisiana Tech

It would be nice to see one our coaches that moves on to the P% actually do something positive - Dooley and Dykes so far are flops

I hope Dykes fails.

Two of the three players quoted there are now former players. If former players got to pick our coaches we wouldn't have hired Michael White. I know there are some current and future players speaking up as well but Hopefully that doesn't influence the decision. We need to hire the best coach whether it's internal or not.

Michael White said on more than one occasion that it was difficult to get P5 teams to play a home/home series, with C-USA teams and that was one of the reasons for a lower conference RPI.

The shoe is on the other foot, I wonder what Mr. White will do if some of his old conference mates come calling for a home/home series with Florida.

We need to be angling to get a home and home out of this whole deal.

Indeed. I'm sure there's a buy-out on his contract. Don't know that the Tech admin would want to give up anything there, but at least you'd have some leverage. White himself could make it happen.

Tech should have had language written into his contract like VCU did with Shaka Smart and now they have a future series vs. Texas

RE: LT's Michael White emerges as Florida’s leading candidate
Western was the first school that I know of that did that long before VCU did with Smart. It was in Dennis Felton's contract when he left for the U of Ga. to do a 4 game series with 2 of them in Bowling Green.

Same with Darrin Horn when he went to South Carolina. When our AD Ross Bjork went to Ole Miss we got them home and home in basketball.

We had it in Petrino's contract for football. From the rumors I heard U of L is weaseling out of that but is going to extend our contract in Basketball for 4 years. Pitino won't be happy if that one is true. We play at U of L 2 times, once in Nashville, and once in Bowling Green.

I've heard people opine that it would not be legally enforceable in any contract but we've received several home games from it.

I'd be shocked if ODU doesn't have it in Jeff Jones contract. The first time we did it was when Wood Selig was our AD and with him at ODU now I'd imagine he's using it there.

Yeh, it's helped get some "big boy" schools to come to WKU. It's stupid not to put in a contract , imo.

You can't force people to get on a plane and fly to your place for a ballgame, but I'd imagine you could extract some $$$ from a breech of contract lawsuit. And though I'm not a lawyer, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

I think you can put in a buyout option for the game.

Of course you can. You can put almost whatever language you want in a contract and as long as both sides sign off on it, it's got some teeth. I was talking about a contract with no buyout for a home and home series (don't know how common that would be today) and the other guys reneg on showing up at your place. I do believe from that standpoint you've got some grounds to demonstrate monetary loss.
