Johnson missed the Southern Miss game and had a total of 7 carries vs UAB, WKU and LT and still had 17 TDs despite playing with Cato throwing early and often. He might be diff than Dixon but like I said the YPC is an exact measure. He's the real deal. Tough in pass protection too.

In order to appreciate how good Dixon is you need to watch his sophomore season clips when he had no one around him.

There are no RB's in CUSA that even come close to Kenneth Dixon. He's extremely talented.

That's a real good comparison for Johnson. Now that you mention it, he does remind one of John Riggins. He was a hell of a power RB.

He reminds me more of Franco Harris or Larry Czonka (but Riggins is a great comparison as well). Last I heard, Johnson ran a 4.5 40...

I overdid it by repeating what I saw p[osted without checking. Johnson missed the USM game and had a total of 7 carries vs LT and WKU. He performed well at UAB however. So three games he had only 7 carries. The reason I feel Johnson is diff than those mentioned is he is not limited to running between the tackles. Lots of his big carries were off tackle. He does have some zoom. I don't necessarily think he will or wont be that type of NFL guy. But as a college guy in CUSA he is very good.

He was actually 3rd.

And ODU's Ray Lawry was 12th in the nation.

Just looked at McGuire's numbers for 2013 as a freshman:

103 attempts, 863 yards, 8.4 yards per carry, no 1 in the country.04-jawdrop

Ive always compared Johnson to Mike Alstott with a bigger motor. Alstott was also 6'1 and around 243. Alstott though even in college only avged 4.2 yards per carry, Johnson last year had 8.5.

Dixon is a great RB but truth is Id rather have Johnson who just runs over people to the endzone and blocks as well as he does, he didn't give up a sack last year.

Johnson has GREAT vision and instinct. He is a natural at the RB position.

If we can stay healthy, I see him going 3rd round or sooner in next years draft. He will get a lot of NFL love because of his ability to pass block.

He's also very versatile. Originally came in as a LB, then played TE for us, and now is a star at RB. Kid is just a great athlete and he is very humble. He is the guy who brings his lunch box every day.

This

Johnson is really old school, you never see him celebrating a run or a TD. He just lays the ball down and gets in the huddle again to run another play. Ive always said he doesn't look at each play as a special play he looks at his and the teams body of work to where they want to go.

Haha! Now there's 1 less in the box!

That's what stands out to me on his highlights. He has some monster holes to run through, but he finds them very well with cut backs and such. Very good back.

He reminds me of Todd Gurley from Georgia, relatively slow, but extremely powerful.

Gurley ran a 10.6 100 meter in high school which is flying.

I was impressed with Johnson after the very few carries he had against us in the championship game. He really moves well for a guy his size.

I am really looking forward to our next S. Arkansas running back Dancy. His high school numbers are ridiculous and should have a little but more speed and quickness than Dixon.
