I submit Gelato. It is basically ice cream, but is generally tastier than it's counterpart.
Yeah but Gelato and Cake doesn't have as good of ring to it.

Also Dan D'Antoni staff aren't going to blow the conference away with recruiting, actually I'm highly disappointed in our basketball programs recruiting
With his incentives, Mike White will make about 750K at LA Tech THIS YEAR. So, going to $1M wouldn't exactly be an insurmountable stretch for Tech. And I'm guessing it will take at least $1.5M to draw him away from his current job.

He's had 3 great seasons and nothing to show for it. Now he heads into his 4th season with a young team and won't be any closer to an NCAA bid.
La Tech hasn't been to the NCAA tournament in more than 2 decades and after being snubbed again, Mike White should have contemplated his future. It's clear to me that he dropped the ball on this latest round of coaching musical chairs.
Good lord.....lighten up, Francis. LA Tech was pretty close this year to an NCAA bid. The Dogs lost in OT to UAB in Birmingham. It's not like we sucked or something.

I suppose I could post shiny, happy, feel good comments and everyone would like me. On occasion, I'll post a flowery comment just to show my kool aid drinking side, but I prefer not to be restricted in my comments.
I'm still puzzled by Mike Whites' reluctance to move to a better job. Alabama would have preferred a young, up and coming college coach like Mike White and I'm certain the job was his for the taking. Now that he's decided to stay, I wish him the best and look forward to a stronger Tech OOC schedule as well.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but the job wasn't his for the taking at all. Hiring white or prohm would have been seen as a failure by Alabama fans after going after Marshall so aggressively. Avery Johnson was their out for still getting a "good hire". At a minimum they wanted to one-up Auburn's last year hiring of Bruce Pearl. Hiring White or Prohm would not have done that and they were both a last resort.

If Mike White was interested in the job, I believe he would have gotten it over Avery Johnson, the guy who got horribly outcoached by Pat Riley in the 2006 NBA Finals and subsequently fired from Dallas. He lasted 2 seasons as The Nets HC before getting the axe there as well. Alabama hired Avery Johnson because White and Prohm weren't interested in the job.
I think Bama fans are more basketball savvy than you give them credit for. Not all Bama fans think this was a good hire ....... SECrant.com

I think Whites a great coach, but he was almost certainly their last choice. They would have hired Prohm over White. There isn't a chance that he was above Avery Johnson on the pecking order.

Agreed! Coach White's name is not flashy enough for Bama. He is also unproven at the highest level of college basketball. It would be a desperate move for Bama to hire CW.
