RE: Pastner To Arizona State?
lol @ the ASU fans saying there would be a riot. I think the cat is already out of the bag.

I was sold on the idea just from the subject title alone. Now we just need to fool them.

This is probably correct. I applaud Josh if he can parlay his record this season into a raise. 04-cheers

I don't personally see it, but I would never begrudge a man for making the most out of his opportunities.

Why is this relevant? Coaches only coach at schools they have "loyalties" to now? Besides, money and a stable job can make someone really loyal really fast...

I just don't see this plan everyone is hoping for working out, us getting to dump Josh at a really good school. Why would another school do that, they are firing their coach for a reason, why bring on someone that has little backing from the fanbase at his current school? Now if he does decent next year he may bolt knowing the cupboard will be bare again in 2016.

Interesting that several posters said that it would be a step down for Josh to go the ASU as coach. They think more of our Memphis program than some of our so called fans.

Katz of ESPN saying Josh is on ASU's coaching list.. Plz take him.. I don't know maybe Josh finally sees the writing on the wall.. He will probably be gone after next years season so why not go get another guarantee for say 5 yrs somewhere like ASU.. Why they would want him I have no idea, but next years success probably hinges on whether someone takes him or not.. But I doubt he gives up the money here!!

I cannot see Pastner going to ASU. I wish I could see Pastner hiring this guy as his right hand man. He is a longtime coach Pastner could learn from.

03-idea I thought it was just a very small group of miserables that actually just disliked him from the very beginning?

AZ fan here, if JP goes to ASU it is a HUGE step down and I am not being biased because ASU is our rival. They have an apathetic fan base for basketball and only draw a decent crowd when we play there (I think they average about 4,000 fans other than our annual game there) Memphis is one of the best destinations for a coach IMHO with tons of upside. Oh, did I mention, ASU will not pay anywhere near the Memphis pay scale. And last, good luck out recruiting Sean Miller, not gonna happen at ASU.
