RE: Rice vs. ODU (Friday Game 1)
T9 ... Time for an offensive EXPLOSION!!! Make some history! Go Owls!!
10 runs and then a 1-2-3 B9 would do nicely.

Top of the ninth.
Teykl keeps the dream alive with a single.
Warren follows suit with a safety.
Lewis hits into a fielder choice, one out with runners at first and third.
Tatum, Rice's 20th player in the game, walks as a pinch hitter
Wondo with a sac fly RBI, two out.
Chandler ends it with a fly out.

Which is one more than the number of innings that ODU has been held scoreless...
Tough room...
I've been sick the past two days and even the idea of beer isn't very appealing to me right now.
Get well. Drink fluids. Rest. Watch Rice, soccer, and that March Madness thingy all weekend.
My weekend was looking like indoor soccer game Fri- referee four games Sat - soccer game on Sun... rain looks like it will knock out most of those. If not for being sick, I'd be playing now.

Well, this is encouraging thus far in the 9th. bases loaded with one out.
... so, not too encouraging. 12-4 final.

It's hard to blame the baseball team for failing to defend the 4th down conversion on repeated occasions, or being a bit undermanned on the court, but ... dammit...

So rally around the luck of the Fox and take the next two. ODU isn't bad, winning the series would be success.

I like the cut of your jib...how about a Fresca?
Thanks. One can always hope. (And I LOVED Fresca ... before its cyclamate sweetener was banned. Grrr.)

On Spring Break with my grandkids. Just checked in for an update.
Guess you could say we're in a bit of a slump.
Let's put it behind us. We need to win this series. And we can.

And we do face truly sub-par pitching the rest of the weekend (save for one southpaw reliever). Having said that, with yesterday's blowout win, we just gave the ODU players all the confidence in the world...and Blake has been anything but strong the first 5 weeks of the season. The offense better gets it's collective act together, and in a hurry.

The pups and I broke out the Tiki recommended Pandawear red Fox hats this morning. Let the record note that Mrs. 13th did not participate. No more worries of sub-elite, mojo deficient, collective act untogethering team. Pish-posh confidence, it is all in the right hat...Donahue will be asking to wear one next Saturday at Reckling. Go Owls. Have fun out there.
I hate to be Archduke Obvious here, but if wanna get our mojo back, we've gotta get Otto a monocle.

The simple things work best. But if a monocle is good, then two monocles might be better? So to save the squinting necessary to wear the monocle, maybe we improve it with something that steadies it, maybe even attaches to the ear? So we have two monocles with ear attachments at the ready...and a fox hat.
