2 seed Tulsa has lost 2 straight and is on the bubble.

Last year, 3 seed SMU was on the bubble and lost 2 straight coming into the conference tournament. Houston had won 4 of its last 5 games and beat SMU in the quarterfinals.

Will history repeat? Can Houston make the American Conference semifinals two years in a row?

Probably not, but hey we'll find out tomorrow at 6 central on ESPNU.

I think Houston has a decent shot.

I'm on pins and needles waiting to see how UCONN performs tonight. Will Boatright have the look of Kemba/Shabazz? Will his supporting cast show up? Or will it be an utter collapse, opening round loss?

Weird stat of the day:

Houston improves to 10-2 when PG LJ Rose doesn't play.

Houston was 3-16 with Rose in the line up.

Im just happy he left that game when Cincy played down there and Ellis was fouled out. As soon as he left the court our pressure killed the coogs. But I do like your chances tomorrow if you can shoot it well and well you know Woodard doesn't hit 10 threes.

I think Houston would have a better record right now if Rose wouldn't have entered the mix.
I can't see Houston losing to Arkansas-PB and S. C. State if they had kept on like they had been.
The record would definitely be better. However, I'm not sure - beyond those two - how it would have impacted the other games.

Really? Did you expect anything different from a team that is 9-22 without its two leading scorers and rebounder?

Not true, the MAC would love to have Cincy back.

Hate to break it to you, but we were in the MAC for 6 years

eastside cat is just one of the trolls. For some reason they seem to be UC fans this time around. I guess USF and UCONN aren't trendy this season.

^ This.

I am amazed at the dedication of our loyal haters. For some reason, they can't resist the AAC and Mike Aresco. LOL.

Yep, in the late 40s and early 50s, don't think the dumb ass making that statement even knew that, but you go on with your bad self. SMH.

Moral victories lol. UCF hasn't shown any progress in basketball besides how low they can sink that RPI

Hard to show much progress when you are short schollys and are playing freshman 35 min a night. Anyway they got a little rest and put together a decent game.

But...isn't Donnie the reason you are short schollys??? Hard to cut him slack when the reason things are bad is because of him.

Just stop. Any and all excuses went out the door when we got creamed by a USF team with even more excuses than we had. And USFs excuses weren't caused by their not so sly head coach

I would not look down on USF and UCF if they got the best players by "any mean$". The NCAA will not hammer you if you pass a few bucks here and there.

I watched the game and honestly after that atrocious start you didn't look all that bad. Especially considering you were down a couple players. There seems to be some players to build on.

Snake Oil?

Aresco's been selling the sh!t out of the Fiesta Bowl and MBB/WBB Nattys; as well he should. That's far from snake oil. That's what we need. We're damned lucky to have him.

As for this conference imploding, you should take a lesson from Richard Gere.

I've been very pleased with how Marshall Guilmette has improved this year. He'll be a big piece of what we do next year. He had a great game vs UCF yesterday.
