I was quoting toodjsn. You figure NIU loses to graduation next year, Toledo loses a lot as well, and if these WMU classes really are top 15 nationally, common sense would say they should be the frontrunners. Its one thing to make a rational prediction, its another thing to make 50 percent of new threads about WMU football haha

When has WMU ever had a TOP 15 class. the answer is of course never. top 80 and maybe top 70. But jesus, top 15...stop. And the only reason they are possibly that high for 2016 is because no one has put forth full effort yet for verbals.

There are way too many top P5 teams out there who attract the best athletes available. No way in hell that WMU has anything remotely close to the top 15 class. Someone started a joke and it has progressed. Plus, this has greatly upset Toledo who has had the number 1 MAC recruiting classes since 1890.

I don't doubt they are 15 AT THE MOMENT. but wait until other schools start putting together full classes and they will be back in their rightful spot in the 75-95 range.

a) OOC schedule is BRUTAL: Michigan State, @Ohio State, @GA-Southern. Overall mentality, higher risk of injuries as a side note too. Tough OOC.
b) Playing @NIU and @Toledo
c) Playing Mac East Champs BGSU and a decent @Ohio team, along with a who-knows Miami. MAC Schedule isn't pretty.

Reasons why WMU should (knock on wood) be expected to be in top-contender form in 2016:

a) OOC schedule is a potential big booster: @Northwestern, @Illinois (who never plays NIU for some reason; WMU old coach half running the show there too), GA-Southern at Home
b) NIU and Toledo at HOME
c) Recruits start warming up and gelling together.

2017 for WMU? WHo will coach that team? PJ is jumping ship quick as he can.

Are you hearing this from the same voices that tell you the MAC is the 2nd best mid-major basketball conference this year and deserves two bids?

WMU gets good recruits. When you get a HIGH amount of recruits stepping in, but in the end, yes (as it is for mid-majors) stepping out -- you're still getting a good recruiting class. Our RB is amazing (sucks he was injured near the end of the year)... he can get good ones. But no, that's not going to make you win the MAC with decent coaching -- unless you Remained so high. One needs more than that... and with the power of PJ Fleck and the strength of a thousand field mice, WMU is going to be a contender at least as long as he's around. Whether Toledo, NIU, or WMU wins the West comes down to (lack of) injuries + home/away games for the most part, along with any affecting controversies and lesser-common things that can crop up.

Quote:2017 for WMU? WHo will coach that team? PJ is jumping ship quick as he can.

Well, IF WMU were to win the West in 2016, which is a Good possibility of course, we'll have the momentum to get a good coach, and won't be in any different waters than Toledo, as we'll be aiming to put money & effort into keeping the team up there. If WMU is great but loses the West by a tie-breaker (loses to NIU or Toledo, tying @7-1 but not going) -- there'll be a decent chance PJ stays if there isn't a great market for P5 coach hires at that point (1-11, 8-5, 7-6, 9-3).

Although teams that are not usually decent who have their coaches leave to P5 to hire another don't continue being at least decent/good (Kent State, Buffalo) -- IMO, teams that are usually at least decent but lose their coaches due to P5 hires, tend to have the momentum to be good after (NIU, BGSU, Toledo). WMU hasn't lost a coach due to P5 in recent history at all. It will keep them churning. And PJ's spirit will always rein thru the locker room! :)

Hahahaha looks like I missed some fun! I have no problem with somebody posting my tweets, I'm not trying to hide from anything. With that being said, it's a little scary to think about how long it had to have taken you to go back to December on my timeline. Well done!

And bowl games still don't matter.

Ask Rod Carey if bowl games don't matter.
