That was a hell of a game. Congrats to the Tribe. One more win needed to go to the dance.

That ending was exciting. Now time for UNCW to pull out the win and make the CAA final entirely beneficial to our RPI.

Got to give it to the CAA; the tournament always seems to produce great games.

Happy for WM, and would love to see UNCW advance to meet them.

RE: March Madness-Conference tourneys
And here we go---we have 3 conference finals tonight, and some things to root for.

The finals:
CAA: A Tribe win helps in a few ways--keeps them a Top 100 win, helps the RPI, etc.
Northeastern vs. William & Mary

MAAC: Iona is sitting around 50 in RPI. A loss here likely dooms them to NIT. But, to be safe, let's go Iona!
Manhattan vs. Iona

SoCo: Wofford is similar to Iona, where a loss buries them. Furman is 11-21.
Furman vs. Wofford

Other tourneys:

MAC: Buffalo has a bye, and they are an at-large threat.
NIU vs. Akron
Ball St. vs. Bowling Green
Miami (OH) vs. EMU
Ohio vs. WMU

MEAC: No at-large threats.
Savannah St. vs. Delaware St.
Morgan St. vs. Hampton

Summit: No at-large threats.
SD vs. SDSU
Oral Roberts vs. NDSU

WCC: We are big Portland fans tonight. We need BYU to lose. A win here and they're going to get in.
Pepperdine vs. Gonzaga
Portland vs. BYU

RE: March Madness-Conference tourneys
Not too many games today:

ACC: Wake and GT have a miniscule effect on our RPI, Va Tech a slightly smaller one
Ga Tech vs. Boston College
Va Tech vs. Wake Forest

MEAC: We're rooting for NC A&T. Only 4 non-CUSA schools have a bigger effect on our RPI.
Coppin St. vs. Bethune-Cookman
NC A&T vs. SC St.

Northeast: St. Francis win helps us slightly more than Robert Morris
Robert Morris vs. St. Francis (NY)

Horizon League: Both teams sitting around 60 in RPI, so the loser is likely out. Green Bay winning helps us slightly.
Green Bay vs. Valparaiso

Summit: NDSU winning helps. No at-large threat either way.
NDSU vs. SDSU

WCC: BYU is likely in, but if they lose at least there's a chance they get snubbed.
BYU vs. Gonzaga

SWAC: Alcorn played UTEP, so it has an effect on our RPI, so we should pull for them today.
Grambling St. vs. Alcorn St.

RE: March Madness-Conference tourneys
Stuck in meeting today, but lots of tourneys going full blast today--33 games going on.

Highlights:

CUSA first round:
FIU vs. UTSA
Charlotte vs. MTSU: Charlotte has larger effect on our RPI, but since we play winner, MTSU would help us more if we can beat them
Marshall vs. WKU
Rice vs. North Texas: Rice gives us slightly larger boost. In fact, outside of ourselves and Charlotte, no team has more bearing on our RPI than Rice

PAC 12:
Stanford vs. Washington: Stanford is sitting in mid-50s in RPI. We'd like them to go ahead and lose.

Big 10, Big East & SEC underway today, but none of today's teams are at-large threats. If you're looking for something here, Seton Hall is #82 in RPI--Big East run would be a big boost but they are only 6-12 in conference play, so very doubtful no matter what.

Mountain West: A few at-large threats here, but none playing in today's first round. This is a league we want to get no more than 2 bids, and they have 3 teams in top 40.

MAC: Buffalo is at-large threat with RPI around 30. They don't play today, but keep an eye on this tourney. We'd like them to win it. If they don't, they need to lose early and then we hope they get snubbed.

ACC: Second round games.
Biggest game for us is Pittsburgh vs. NC State. NC State is 45 in RPI. A loss keeps them in 40s for now, but they're only 9-10 vs. top 100. Va Tech plays Miami and while Miami is a long shot, Va Tech is a no shot, so we need to root for them to knock Miami off.

Big 12: Texas plays today and they are #42 in RPI. A win today doesn't do much for their RPI, but we don't want a Longhorn run.

A10: GMU plays today, they can help our RPI out a bit.

A few smaller conferences are playing today as well--SWAC, MEAC, etc. but nothing we really need to worry about.

With Seton Hall being in the Paradise Jam, I would think we would want them to do well (opponents' opponents), but short of winning it.

Yeah, it's not much, but it is there--they beat Gardner-Webb and Illinois St.

I watched some of the VT-Miami game the other day. VT was never within 15 points. we are asking a lot here, but still a rooting interest.

Well, Miami needs more than a win or two, but I'm all about eliminating the possibilities of a shocking run to an ACC title right away.

I think a win over #11 ND might just be enough, so go VT.
