I'm wearing a Rice polo at a seminar here in Las Vegas. Similar lack of HBU rep. Are they even trying?
Rice is dominating this hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Total domination.
On a related note, what's up with the husky mascot?? I mean, I get the Rice relation to owls: wisdom, up all night, affinity for rodents, etc. Wouldn't it make more sense for HBU to be the ducks? Or the beavers? Or any number of animals that enjoy dunking their heads in water?? I don't get it.

Same issues-- getting killed on defensive glass and poor shooting, coupled with minimal assists, on offense.

I love it. Caelligh wins. I can hear the student section cheering now, "Here we go, John Thes, here we go!! (clap-clap)," as the coach yells at his players to bring him the other teams' head.

I wish they'd just run the offense through Gearhart. He usually is patient and makes smart decisions, and is a decent scorer

Agree. And for the first time we are making a ton of mistakes on defense. It appears for about the 5th year in a row we will be one of the worst shooting teams from 1 to 2 ft away. So many missed layups.

Great backdoor cut and pass by Peera to Guercy. Looked briefly like an actual offense

HBU btw is 2-2 with losses at Northwestern and UTA and big wins over Hillsdale Baptist and Dallas Christian. The enrollment numbers of those two schools that I can find are 226 and 336.

To be fair, they lost to Northwestern on the road by 7. But yeah

Hmm, I wonder if Gearhart has played with more Owls than anyone in Rice history...

Lucky HBU thought after the foul there was only 1 second left on the shot clock. But Rivers can't hit the layup
