It is possible. Regardless, dramatic damage will already be done to UAB football and UAB athletics. This will be a cloud hanging over the departments head for a long time. Coaches for any sport will think twice before coming here.

True, but the thing we have going for us is that UAB has great potential for a great football program. We can rebuild it quickly, especially if we get administrators to publicly back it and to back it with actions (building facilities).

Here is something else that folks need to consider. We are hearing from the BOT that this was on Watts and his decision and that they respect his authority as UAB president. If they respect the authority of the UAB president, this would be the first such case in history at least with respect to athletics.

If the BOT disagreed or did not support Watts conclusions, do you honestly think they would stand by and let him do it? They allowed him to act as a president with authority because he happened to agree with their conclusions.
