RE: Nebraska players are pissed!
Where do players get off thinking they have a say in who is the coach of the team. Boohooo, grow up, this is big boy football. Pelini is a disgrace and deserved to be fired anyway.

Lol at MD.
They don't pick the coach, but they sure as hell will transfer if they don't like the coach and recruits are as hell won't committ if they don't like the coach either.
Not everything is as black and white as saying grow up. Players end up having tons of respect for a guy they like, it's evident his players loved him.

Its great they liked him but he cant coach himself out of a paperbag. Become his facebook friend, go to holiday parties with him, no reason he has to be their head coach just because he is liked.

I didn't say keep him because of that, I'm just saying you're trying to say they should have no input.
It's a little more than a holiday party or Facebook friends. That type of environment is totally different than a work place like yours or mine. When you were recruited to your workplace you probably spent aignificantly less thine conversing or being courted by your direct supervisors than a college player is.
Coaching is definitely number one. He is better than you're giving him credit for. You don't suck your way into 10 win seasons and appearances on Big 12 and Big 10 title games.
Again they shouldn't pick the coach, but they will make a large part of their decision on where they want to play and if they stay based on that coach. If Nebraska wants to be an Alabama they need to realize that.
