Or does the NCAA just go out of state to take out their frustrations?
Also, difficult to envision there aren't criminal violations here. Won't be a bit surprised to see the FBI Field Office in Charlotte open an investigation.

None of those schools will be punished at all, they had nothing to do with what Chapel Hill was up to. If anything it might benefit some of the other instate schools. I'm sure UNC CHeat will be sanctioned in some serious way, loss of post season, scholarships, etc. The Chapel Hill instate recruits may start being poached by all three and NC State.

RE: OT: Wainstein report is out - UNC guilty of decades of cheating,
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the lack of attention on espenis' home page.....the acc has their deal with which network????
stuff like this continues to stare people in the face and the masses just turn their heads when it's not in 'their' best interests....
nice message this sends to all parties from the fan to the school.....
what a joke....
fedhat might not be feeling the love much longer there....I knew when he signed that 7 yr deal, something really wrong was going on.....
at the time he was hired, it was stated about his contract length, "...the norm is 5 yrs but 7 was offered due to the self imposed probation...."
it's sad what some people can live with as being 'acceptable'.....
this is infinitely worse than the SMU debacle.....on so many levels
north carolina university....an institution of higher level learning???.....I wonder how the non sports student/alumni feel about that right now?
it's sickening how this parallels various sectors of american society.......

It was intended as sarcasm showing that the ncaa won't go after a P5 school but will find a G5 program to punish instead. Have you not heard of that before?

This thing is such a slap in the face to our state, sarcasm isn't needed. I am glad that my schools name has nothing to do with North Carolina in it.

Lucky you, so wish my school would change it's name. We did it for sports, seems only logical to do it for the academic side as well given how Chapel Hill has forever tarnished the UNC name.

I am going to repeat what you really said.....
branding carries merit.....
unfortunately, that sucks in my world.....
your view implies we should all watch commercials to ad nauseam, bow, and give them money......(forgive the intended sacrilegious pun)
at what point does the university of pheonix become the norm?????
shite like that ranks right there with uniform/attendance/media perception thread fodder
does anyone....anymore....anywhere remember what really matters????????????
the millennials have taken over the mass perception faster than mercury......

Not sure what any of the above is about and how it relates to my post, but oh well.
I just want Charlotte to change it's official name from UNC Charlotte to UC or CU or something that gets rid of the UNC crap. Heck, App, ECU, NC State, etc all are UNC system schools and don't have UNC in their names. Just wish we didn't either.

Don't know how directly related, but from the four-letter mouse ear article:
"When Crowder retired in 2009, Julius Nyang'oro, the former chairman of the African and Afro-American Studies department, was urged to maintain the program. He was forced to retire in 2012 and was charged with fraud for holding summer classes that didn't exist. Those charges were dropped when he agreed to cooperate with the investigation."

The only remedy for this UNC problem is to burn it to the ground. Would anyone really miss it??

b/c that will most certainly change perception....(I'm a huge fan of millennials that don't understand why the 'me' part is a problem)
...me calls it sarc with a sharpened blade
was it "branding" that flew over the cuckoo or 'why' branding is relevant
you won't sniff that one either....
