I don't think we get pissed when people report on attendance. At least, I don't. But we DO get pissed at the back-handed comments about how 500 people were at a game. We get pissed because ignorant morons who aren't UAB fans read it and believe that we actually only have 500 people at a game!
I am not afraid of actual attendance reporting, because I know what most of you know, that we are in line with other schools in our conference and many other programs around the country.
We just get mad about the idiotic "UAB has no fans", "nobody cares about UAB", "nobody watches, so they should shut 'er down" comments.
In fact, I think we WANT them to write about our attendance when it is like the Troy and AAMU games this year.

#2-Kicking off at the same time as #2-Auburn vs. #3-Mississippi State
#3-Alabama plays Arkansas at 5:00 PM
#4-Some people will stay away because of the home loss to FIU
Despite all of these negative factors, I think we will still draw 25,000+ because it is our homecoming game.
#1 - AAMU game was also televised and it didn't affect our attendance.
#2 - Game is in Starkville.
#3 - Nonfactor
#4 - I think the win over Western Kentucky will win those fans back.
I think 25,000 is a strong possibility but probably more around 22,000.

Lol. Yes let's stop obsessing over attendance and get back to obsessing over Watson Brown. C'mon people.

RE: UAB/North Texas Attendance
The only reason we see continued attendance articles (and threads) is because our stadium is so disproportionately sized compared to our fan base. Those same attendance articles would be talking about sell-outs and near sell-outs if we had something that better suited us. (Edit: Better yet, it would be a non issue. It has nothing to do with the fan base and everything to do with the perception of an empty stadium).
Our attendance isn't that bad, but you'll never convince anyone of that if, even on your best days, there are still more empty seats than full.

Over 20k because of homecoming. I'm saying around 22k with no weather caveats.

I will personally go out on a limb and guarantee that there will be attendance for the UAB/N. Texas game.

Probably around 16K, but hopefully we can get 20K. I won't be able to make because we're going to the beach. Hopefully I can watch the game on tv in Florida.

RE: UAB/North Texas Attendance
Personally I'm very excited for the game. It's the first Homecoming since I've been a UAB fan(2007-present) that we've had a winning record going into the Homecoming game. We're going to have a great tailgate with TKE alumni and actives, I'll have a pretty and smart girl on my arm, and I believe UAB will end up with a victory. Go Blazers, it's a new era in UAB football boys.

Latest numerical guidance has the chance of rain down to 17% on Saturday, with a high of 85.

I'll say between 21-24K, it's homecoming and those games are usually a big deal with most fan bases regardless of W-L records, but this time appears to be different with UAB, there's a glimmer of hope for a breakthrough season and how glorious it would be for that to take place this year. #GangGreen>meangreen

There is a good chance of rain. If it's raining before the game I'd guess 6k show up. Wouldn't be an issue if there was a dome

But it would still be an issue if we had an OCS, so let's hope the dome is built soon!

If properly marketed with our WKU victory and our improving image against MSU, we may be pleasantly surprised by Saturday's turnout. I am hopeful of getting nearer to 30,000 than at any time since the Reuben Studdard game. Maybe UAB will become the next American (Football) Idol.
