I personally don't think "gaystapo" is offensive, I just think that since most of us are smart people, there are better ways to say things. IMO we should all try to avoid references to the Nazis or Hitler, because as bad as you think it may be when someone has to bake a cake, it really doesn't warrant being compared to the gestapo.

I can only speak for me... but I would generally say that complaining about an activist group is mostly fair game, until you turn that complaint against a poster. Having said that, I think there are plenty of ways to complain about groups without resorting to intentionally inflammatory name-calling.

I guess the bigger question would be, how often do you anticipate needing to say this such that a 5% warning for a week would be an issue for you? I mean I suppose if every single week for 6 months you're on here complaining about the gaystapo, it MIGHT get you in trouble...

I think the penalties are 'light' enough that it really shouldn't be an issue

Wow, I actually agree with Feet on this. What the mods (I hope I don't get punished for this) are looking to start is a very PC type of board where nothing goes. Unfortunately, (in my opinion) it only favors the Lefties as they're the ones that are always pushing PCness on every front of the media, (see: making your hand to resemble a gun and get kicked out of school).

If it does continue to favor the thin skinned individuals here it will make for a very boring board. But, we shall see.

You could, but people can't.

Seems like a simple solution that would save a lot of people time and effort having to make sure no one says those words. Those settings literally take seconds. So, just add dumb*** to the list and presto, no one can type it.
