He's a good one. Let see how the next few years go, but he could end up being the best coach we have had since Erk. No one will ever come close to Erk.

Right now he's third. Behind Erk and Paul.
Without a doubt.

I like him a LOT!

But I'm not ready to rank him above Monken just yet.

Got a bunch of wins to put up on the board first.

Both are great coaches and He has a lot more HC experience which shows. I'll most likely agree in the end, but right now - he is number 4 in my book but climbing.

While I think Erk and Paul are unquestionably #1 and #2 right now there could be some argument beneath that. Of course the last place spot is solidly locked up by He Who Shall not Be Named.

FCS
Erk 83% wins , 3 NCs & a 15-0 season
Paul 86% wins & 2 Nat. Championships.

Erk has to get the nod because of the 1989, 15-0 NC and he started with NOTHING

Willie is 5th right now. Way too early to put him above anyone but VG and Hatcher.

Do you have him above Stowers, Sewak or Monken?

If you base it on winning it all, Stowers would have to be third since he was head coach in '90.

My list, for no reason other than I'm on break at work:

1. Erk
2. PJ
3. Stowers/Monken
4. Sewak
5. Fritz (moving up with a bullet but still to early to rank him ahead of guys who coached successfully for more than one year)
6. Hatcher
7. Ellwood

Yeah, I left Voldemort VanGorder off on purpose. Bastard. Only good thing he did was quit.

1. Erk
2. PJ
3. Monken
4. Stowers/Sewak
5. Fritz (and not very far out of 4th right now)
6. Hatcher
7. Ellwood
8. Brian van Idiot

Fritz has a chance to move up but it will take sustained success over more than 5 games.

Turn that 8 on its side to get what number the J-A who shall not be mentioned should be on any list of coaches we ever have. Simply could not be worse.

I'll never forget the day I met him. he was moving into the apt right next to mine temporarily while his house was being built. I met his wife and kids. I helped them move some stuff in. She said I was the first student they had really spoken with since they got the job. Van Goober pulls up, his wife introduces me, I stick my hand out and say "welcome to Ga Southern coach". He looks at my hand, doesn't say a damn word, and walks into his apartment.

I knew from that moment he would be a total failure at Ga Southern. His wife was nice as hell. Invited me over for dinner.

Then a couple years later I pissed off his daughter when I went on an anti Van Gorder tirade while he was with the Falcons. Haven't spoken with her since. lol
