Brings back some good Tucker Phillips memories.

yep. I was ridiculed by some here for observing, quite objectively, that Harvard has been better than Rice during many of DB's seasons.

the transitive property doesn't always hold in football, but if we lose to Army...

What happened to FSU supposed stellar defense?

BTW, Arkansas continues to lead the Aggies 28 - 14 in College Station, as they begin the 4Q, and it appears the return of prodigal son, JFF, is jinxing his team.

You typed too soon. FSU just got a strip sack leading to a touchdown and is now up 42-38.

Yale was not even in "others receiving votes" in the FCS poll, having played only one game before today.

Yale trailed lehigh 21-0 in first quarter last week before rallying to win.

Army beat Buffalo and was competitive at Wake Forest. lost 35-0 at Stanford, but no shame in that. But losing at yale is bad, and Rice losing to them would be profoundly disappointing.

Surprised at FIU winning at UAB. UAB had played significantly better until today. Makes the easy win at FIU later this year more in doubt.

Has the coaching search started at Ann Arbor yet? It should. Too bad the Toad laid an egg or he could have had his jet warmed up for the next stop.

Fresh off an inspired performance against Oregon last week, Washington State is getting crushed by Utah, 21-0 after the first quarter. The Cougars failed on a fourth and five from about the ten.

Wow, does anyone play defense in C-USA? Almost gives me some hope if we can avoid injuries on the O side of the ball.

Texas State beating Tulsa late 17-10. That Tulsa coach won't be there next year.

Oh and Notre Dame on the road against Syracuse winning 28-9. That QB they have is having a pretty good night. 31-35 for 355 yards, 4 TDs and 1 Int. Apparently, he spent time with QB guru George Whitfield. I know that Nate German was there this past summer and I think that Jeremy Jones (True Freshman QB) may have worked with Whitfield.

Tulsa scores with 10 seconds to go to tie the game. Looked like on 4th down the QB sneak was stopped but officials ruled TD and the replay wouldn't have confirmed the decision either way since you never saw the football. Tough for Texas State since they lost late at Illinois last week. But you are correct Blankenship is gone.

Franchione having a not so friendly not so angry talk with the zebras before OT.

Texas State wins in 3 OT's over Tulsa at Tulsa. Didn't like Tulsa before the Toad, during the Toad, and after the Toad...good job Bobcats. They will be some trouble for Sun Belt foes.
