Now 24-0 with over 7 mins to go in the half...just makes me even more sick about last week (and this is on the road for MTSU).

If we don't win tomorrow, we could be looking at 2-10. And if anything close to that happens, there needs to be some serious re-evaluation somewhere. I do not envy Dr. K if we stay on the same track much longer.

Southern Miss has been there when we needed them before. Here's hoping they will again.

There are no flukes tonight, either. ODU is simply being dominated by the better team.

Actually it hurts a lot. To me, anyway. I'm not OK with losing to a team getting blown out by MTSU. You make whatever excuses make you feel better.

After they had a long kickoff return nullified by (yet another) penalty, the ESPN cameras were glued to the sideline showing Kingsbury going off on the Special Teams players. Apoplectic. Blue in the face. Foaming at the mouth.
Now, everybody has their own coaching style. And I'm not saying that approach is correct every time. But it was an example of raw coaching passion that we don't see very often on our side line.

so the result of apopleptic coaching is leading the nation in penalties?

We need more of that for sure.

Imjuries count. if we have Covington last week, we win, amd all this angst is avoided.

I agree. Having 7 starters out is big. Had we had the pressure on ODU's QB like MTS is having, it would be a different game. We also need our backup players to be as fast as our starters in the secondary. Having key starters out there hurts. We will be ok.

I didn't say that. At all
I said we don't see that kind of coaching passion on our sideline.

MTSU is doing to ODU what ODU did to us last week. I know we were down a few of our defensive starters, but based on these first couple of games I worry about our athleticism deficit

Deficit relative to whom?

We never got pressure on the QB last year, t-93 in team sacks, and we are even weaker on the line this year. The injuries make for a convenient, but not especially convincing, excuse.

But I think we should be OK too with Driphus at the helm.

Each team we've played so far. I'm referring primarily to our defense. It looks like any time an opposing offense really wants to challenge us they can beat us. And I was hoping that ODU might just be a good under the radar team, but I see MTSU has handled them pretty easily. So I hope I'm wrong and we can get it together, but I do worry.

we lost by three. if you think Covington would not have made three points difference, that he would not have hurried or harassed one pass, then you would have to think he is overated. do you?

to Covington, add all the other missing guys and explain to me again how they make no difference.
