What's the relevance with your statement? If you're referring to Skal's guardian its common practice and it's nothing particularly wrong with looking out for yourself. However, its how you do it and still hold the kid's best interest at heart in the process.
Give me a break.
This guy is a leech, just like most of the other "posse's" pretending to have the kid's best interest at heart.
These kids represent possible gold mines, and draw flies accordingly.

Dude. I don't remember saying this guy wasn't one. That remains to be seen and we'll soon find out. What I said was that it was common place, even by parents and it's not always a particularly complexed ordeal like this one if the kid has any say in the matter. And I know firsthand how this works from others close to me in the past.
Also there's no place and or reason to put a political slant or undertones (your reference of Sharpton and Jackson) on this. Please leave it in the PF where it belongs.

Therein lies the problem. Folks accept this crap as business as usual.
These slugs are ruining, or already have ruined the collegiate sports scene. And, that pisses me off.
It would be hard to dispute any of what I wrote. But, if it offends your sensibilities, maybe you should just report me, "Dude."
You definitely have political correctness working for you.

It's not political correctness..its common sense. The mere fact you made that false assessment says more about "you" and the code words you've chosen to use rather than those in a recruiting process where large corporations (shoe companies), wealthy individuals (boosters), and major universities themselves play much larger roles in this unsavory part of recruiting.

You are not in any position to lecture me about code words or false assessments. That hymn is played far too often and serves to immunize all parties in the scam.
The whole process, including " large corporations (shoe companies), wealthy individuals (boosters), and major universities" is an abortion. And, I'm against the entire process. But, that also includes slugs likes Skal's so called guardian.
And there are no "code words" involved in that emotion.

Funny it took me to point these other factions out before you chose to include them. Also, you chose to use "slug" instead of just calling him by his name. You chose to reference Sharpton and Jackson here in a sports forum. You chose to falsly mention that i had "political correctness" on my side. Gerald and others like him can have their hands out but it takes 2 to complete the transaction. The ole Potomac 2 step.

To me it sounded like genuine disgust from both GP and Caulkins, about how badly the situation has been mismanaged.
They both brought up an excellent point. 2 weeks into the school year, and the kid still isn't enrolled in a school. How is this about what's best for the kid?

I don't know. The same thing happened to Stokes, though, and he wound up at UTK because they had a schollie.

Exactly like the ones who ruined Sylvester Gray and Marvin Alexander's chances of getting an NBA contract or a college degree, with the exception this guy is not a sports agent. Skal should stand on his own two feet and make his own decisions and get with a reputable agent when his college time is over and not forgo the best time of his life.
