RE: Problems with the 7-home-game model
Trying to understand how this is a problem with the 7 game home schedule when the article this thread is based upon starts with this statement:
Quote:With LSU football season just a month away, tickets remain for six of the Tigers' seven home games in the 2014 season.
The surplus happened because those six teams - Sam Houston State, Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, Kentucky and Ole Miss – all returned tickets to LSU.
It clearly states the surplus is because six teams, all but one of which are FBS schools, returned tickets.

Odd considering a couple of years ago they scheduled a buy game with UMass: Umass paid them to have a one and done game in Amherst. Did I mention that this was back when UMass was still 1AA?

This just seems like a ploy for non-power programs to try and close the gap on the big boys by creating arbitrary restrictions. This is the exact thing they are going away from with "autonomy".

Schools should have the freedom to do what they choose with their non-conference games.
