It's perfectly mainstream to think EVERYTHING this administration does is nefarious and some type of plot to do whatever it is you guys think they're trying to do to America.
Tom, I think Obama has a job opening. Didn't Jay Carney resign? I don't think anyone can carry the water Obama better than you. Just saying

Even Nixon handed over his tapes ....Looks like the King has learned.....Nixon shoulda handed over a handful of ashes....but our King isn't responsible for even a smidgen of wrong doing under his reign

Lots of people -- including many of the ones who were most determined and impassioned about driving Nixon out of office and (so they wished) into prison -- later admitted that if he had destroyed the tapes at an "early" phase of the proceedings, Nixon would not have been impeached, nor compelled to resign. Politically he would have been the lamest of lame ducks, but he would have, at least, served out his term in office, and "Watergate" would not have been the Main Event of his legacy.
The existence of the tapes was made known to the public on July 16, 1973. He probably had about about a month or so in which he could have burned them without too much political pain. But the struggle over possession of the tapes dragged out for more than a year, during which the public lost patience.

Yea, Why worry about targeting perfectly innocent people with the most feared federal agency out there and simultaneously deny them their Constitutional rights?

You think these right wingers care about the facts, Tom? No, this is going to become NOBAMA personally destroying Lerner's hard drive in the Oval Office with a sledge hammer (that coincidentally he stole from Seal Team Six before they were going to save the Benghazi dead, which caused the whole operation to be cancelled).

Losing all, or most emails because you switch platforms is a hell of a lot more plausible then losing just the email of some key employees emboiled in a scandal of of those employees only during the time the emails were needed.
But please Max, tell us how consistent you're being? did the plame fiasco deserve a special prosecutor?

Yeah I'd be fine with special prosecutors in both cases.
Both cases had emails lost from during the time the emails were needed. Both seem plausible. Apparently the IRS computer system isn't exactly modernized because their budget keeps getting cut by the GOP House (much like they did to the diplomatic security budget before Benghazi)-- the IRS budget has fallen 7% while returns have increased 4%. Which is really stupid, because the IRS returns $6 to the treasury for every $1 they're given.
Republicans love bashing the IRS but they're doing so at the behest of their rich backers, who are the ones who love gutting the IRS because they find ways to illegally cheat the tax code. And the GOP rank and file who ironically crow about deficits and generally have nothing to worry about (if you make under $200k you have a 1% chance of an audit, while it's 6% for million dollar earners) just about go along with it. As a result, when Bush took office, tax audits on the rich fell 90% and they got away with hundreds of billions in cheating, meanwhile the middle class suckers who voted for him saw their audits go up a third.
Excuse my tangent but I say again, the GOP is a suckers' party. Wake up and stop voting to prop up rich ********. And stop cutting agencies' funding and then complaining when it affects their performance.

The poor IRS with their widdle budget cut by those big bad meanie republicans wasted millions on conferences, bonuses, junkets and a hollywood quality star trek video.
Yet they still spent a boatload of money on conferences in vacation destinations, junkets, parties, bonuses and a hollywood quality Star Trek video.
If their budgets were so tight maybe instead of wasting money on bonuses, trips and videos shouldn't they have spent that money on their IT infrastructure?
RE: IRS Claims to Have Lost Over 2 Years of Lerner Emails
Max is really good at designing graphs. But he can't show causation on any of his claims. As mptnstr points out, if they didn't waste money on junkets, they'd have plenty to upgrade their computers. And no matter how much democrats want to blame cuts to embassy security budgets for the Benghazi debacle, he can't make that link, and State Department employees have already denied it.

Budget cuts to the IRS had zero to do with the lost emails. The IRS wasted millions on trips, junkets, bonuses, redecorating offices and making a hollywood quality video. Assuming you actually believe their excuse that the equipment really was that antiquated if it was shouldn't they have spent budget funds on IT rather than trips, bonuses and the like?
If you advocate voting to stop propping up rich ******* (why you would vote against job creators I"ll never know) then voting democrat isn't any different after all aren't Union bosses, Hollywood elites, and tech giants rich *******???
