There was a recent article in the political-media about how the total lack of any support or encouragement by Senate Democrats and Beltway lobbyists for Biden's hoped-for-2016 presidential race is starting to make some people feel sorry for him. These people have known him for 40 years and have been through all the ups and downs of a life in elective office. Yet now that he is hoping to climb that last rung of the political ladder, he is getting the Silent Treatment from every last one of them. Some of them are openly for Hillary! and some are keeping their head down, but Nobody -- not even the pols from Delaware -- is for Joe. Even for a man with a normal-sized ego, that would have to sting a little. For a man with a Biden-sized ego, it has to be much worse than that.

Yep, the same federal government that gave us a VA that can't handle treating our veterans expediently and the same government that gave us an IRS that doesn't follow its own archiving protocals and allegedly lost a cache of highly important emails is the same government that we are now supposed to trust to effectively handle overseeing health insurance for the entire country...

I have an idea. It is well documented that Dem Senators Chuckie Schumer, Dicky Durbin and Carl Levin, and Den Rep Elijah Cummings, have publicly called for the IRS to investigate the TEA party organizations. Now perhaps they may have emails to Lois Lerner archived on their systems. How about a subpoena for Schumer's, Durbin's, Levin's and Cummings' emails?

I'm pretty sure they are immune unless there is a criminal charge.

yeah, the irony is that we're all pretty much decided when we walk in. political discussion boards seem to primarily draw students of politics or political philosophy.

I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen someone flip on an issue because of a thread in a discussion forum. myself, I enjoy reading a well turned argument or cleverly spun point. it's sort of a crossword puzzle or rubik's cube for me.

more irony: back in the usenet days (which was full contact verbal violence), a genuinely undecided guy wandered into a newgroup and announced that he was undecided about some core issue -- capital punishment, if memory serves. he was descended upon by both sides. it was an absolute slaughter. he was hooted completely out of the human race for his lack of conviction. the irony of what had happened was lost on most people, as they immediately picked up where they had left off in the ages old battles.
