Too good for that. After all, he's so damn smart.
My aunt and uncle are good people but still. They let the kid slide, which he does, and expect others to help out. They always have.
But, the whole thing fits in here because the level of entitlement issue isn't just in one generation.
The kid just wants to stay home and do nothing. The parents want the heavy lifting done by others.

The Millennials ought to have their own sitcom that follows the lives of 5 young Americans who struggle with sexuality, gender issues, excessive drug use and having to move out of their parent's homes. The climax of the story builds as they become increasingly suspicious of each other over racial issues.

My 18 year old cousin does absolutely nothing and has rock bottom grades and test scores and him and his parents, my aunt and uncle, ride me, and have others in the family do it, to send him to college. The only school that will take him is a $15,000 per semester religious school.
F that. That's entitlement.
Wait. What? The parents want YOU to foot the bill for their kid?!? WTF are they doing about it? Dude, if that's the case (I may be misunderstanding you) don't in a gazillion years ever even consider the idea.
It'll never ever ever stop. For the rest of your life. Like the lottery owner who eventually goes broke paying for all the hangers-on schit. Don't even consider the idea. I'd tell them no. period. Don't ever ask again, cause it ain' happnin'.
Just my unsolicited advice...

I've got friends from high school who went to technical schools after graduation. Most of them make more than most folks with college degrees.

Earning potential has nothing to do with a bachelor's degree. Thats all grit, street smarts, hustle and hard hard work. I do think graduate and professional school tend to be game changers and I have more esteem for those who pursue the upper echelons of higher learning. I think their glass ceiling for humanity contribution is higher.
That said, I have just as many if not more so heroes in MY life who either didnt go, didnt finish, or didnt stick with what they did in college.

Yep. Good friend of my brothers, who I also grew up, with skipped the college track and went to elevator school. Is crushing it. Has his own crew, gets time and a half, probably brings home 1 1/2 times what his college "educated" peers do. The trades are far undervalued today and theres plenty of very good money to be made there.
Problem is for "Brian", it takes real work. As in dirty hands work. As in on your feet work. As in working outside or elsewhere. Ima doubting sweet brian has been on his feet and worked a day in his life.
Sorry, Brian. You're one of life's losers.

Spoiler alert: Every episode ends with runny mascara, holes punched in drywall and dudes crying in dark corners telling the cameras to "go away."

That sounds more like Gen X.
You're essentially describing MTV's Real World (ha!) which is a Gen X creation with a Gen X formula.
