To put it in perspective, the incoming class will be seniors WHEN / IF they ever get to host the bb tournament.

Do we have some right to host the tourney that I'm not aware of?

Memphis has hosted 7 conference tourneys since 2005...somehow, we'll survive.

After 2005, where else was CUSA going to have it that would draw more than flies?

We're centrally located (with a GREAT airport!) and will generally have a good team that has good attendance numbers.

I think letting Orlando host will end up being a mistake.

Maybe the Big 12 would like to have their bb tournament here.....04-cheers

Too bad that doesn't translate into people actually "visiting" Tulane home games too. Great academics, "great" city to visit vs horrible attendance, horrible teams and an athletic department that no one in it's own city cares about. Sounds like a winner to me.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the SEC have their BB tourney in Memphis at some point. Don't think that would sit well with most Tiger fans but would be loved by local UTK, OM, UA & MSU fans. The SEC may not want a team based in Memphis but they will certainly take Memphis money if it is available - and at the expense of our university. And the city of Memphis would treat our university like a step-child to make it happen.

RE: 2015 AAC Conference Tourney in Hartford
Grizzlies were dumb to allow Memphis to host a conference tourney and NCAA Regional in the same season in their building. Still, the benefits of FEF FAR outweigh any negatives for us.

This has ZERO to do with them though, and even less to do with our performance.

Hartford offered more $$$. Has nothing to do with their fan support either...or them winning the national titles...although I'm sure it didn't hurt.

With this league, I've long thought that Yum Center in Louisville would be a great place for the conference tournament.

Totally neutral, reasonably ACCESSIBLE site.......not a bad idea.

Great willingness to support the sport that counts in the form of a great new on-campus stadium coming to their area...almost ready.

Comeon everybody take a trip with me...hey hey ey hey yea

It's a shame what happened to Tulane sports.

I was living in New Orleans when the LSU/Tulane football series was electric, and I-10 between BR and Nola was bumper to bumper with fans coming or going.
