Our team got run off their own home floor and about 75% of us in the crowd were so disgusted that we left early. Early round games had no one and the sessions without the U of M had small crowds (based on TV).

Please! This has nothing to do with the Tigers losing early and a lack of home crowd support for that game

I doubt UConn fans will fill out their arena unless their team is playing. The competitive balance in the AAC means there is a strong risk that the home team will not make the final. Furthermore, Hartford is not within easy driving distance for Cincy and Memphis fans and they cannot be counted upon to boast attendance. I could be wrong, but I think there is more to it than just relatively poor attendance by Tiger fans.

I tend to agree. There's more here than meets the eye, but I have no idea what it might be.

You all will be surprised by the local support in Hartford. It will be much better than our support was.

And if UCONN gets knocked out early it will be worse than here. That is a guarantee

Great plan...Hartford is around 1 million people...XL Center is a very nice facility...women can play at the Mohegan Sun casino.

Following UConn's title, it makes sense...didn't over 100k show up for their trophy parade?

lol, OK...they don't care.

Our fans act like spoiled kids...Hartford has a good size population, a nice arena in the XL Center, they offered good $$$, and they just won the NCAA title.

Memphis isn't going to get it every year.

The problem for Memphis is our lack of good hotels downtown. That is why we won't get an NBA Allstar Game, either. It is a problem for conventions as well.

Hartford isn't convenient at all for us, but that's just the way it's going to be. This isn't CUSA...there are other schools that can support the tournament.

yea, Hartford is geographically convenient for many folks, but as has been said, it's not like some outpost, i.e, former home of the NHL Whalers

Is there a trading post up there where trappers can sell furs and pelts?

Next you are going to tell me they have electricity and hot & cold running water.......

No, it's what happens when the host team can't even get past their first game in the tournament and they aren't expected to be any good the next year.

And, based on the current demographics of Memphis it will stay this way for the foreseeable future.
